4 wks post op, still swollen

Im almost a month post op A &P P repair with a sling, as well. Is it normal to feel like you have an ostrich egg attached to your tailbone? Well, now, it feels more like a quail egg. So, quess the swelling is way down. But, the vagina is still having big bulges in it, both on top and on the bottom. I can barely fit the insertion tube in, so the estrogen cream can be injected. Normal to still have so much internal vaginal swelling this long after surgery? Not having any vaginal pain. Thank goodness. Need Advice.

Glad to hear you aren't in pain!! I don't have any words of wisdom since I'm looking for info on post-op myself. Just wanted to tell you that I hope you feel better really quickly!

It sounds like what you're experiencing is pretty typical. When is your next dr. appt.? Being examined helped to reassure me when I was wondering if what I felt was normal. I started to notice a big improvement at 6 weeks. Hang in there, it does get better.

Thank you. Means a lot to know others are here for me! This has been a rough journey. much more so than I'd expected.

Re: 4 wks post op, still swollen

My next appt. is Jan 3rd. I did work, my part time job, on Mon and wed of this week. Although, had others do all my lifting for me...still have a 15 lb restriction. Full time job, however... wont let me work till I get a full release. Still occasionally have sudden onsets of urgency and scratchy sensation, but, I figure its caused by everything still working it's way back into normal position. Azo maximum strength has become a very close friend! Very glad to hear that things should dramatically improve around 6 wks post-op. The doctor made me feel like this was a walk in the park, pre-op. Guess he was concerned Id back out... if I REALLY KNEW, the torture I was soon to begin experiencing. LOL.

Are you starting to urinate like you 'used' to? I had total lavh w. TOT bladder sling 3 weeks ago. Sometimes, I go to the bathroom normally but many times, I am still 'dribbling' and taking a long time to empty bladder. I am also using vaginal cream and must go very slowly and have lots of vaginal swelling too.
