Intimacy

Hello Ladies.
Today was my 6 week check up and I was given the green light for work and sex. The thing is, I am a little nervous about being intimate with the husband. I think Im most nervous about how it will feel, or will it be not fulfilling for both of us. Am I abnormal for feeling like this? Im half tempted to pull the "Im not feeling well" to get out of it.. anyone have any words of wisdom???

Thanks!

Re: Intimacy

I dont think youre abnormal...I actually think its natural to be nervous about it the first time. I intend to try on Jan 14 (yes I have a date lol). I am scared because I keep hearing stories about people blowing out their cuff and all that when they dont have a cervix. I just hope its all good up there! I will be 12 weeks or so by then.

All I can say is try to go slow maybe for the first time. Thats what I intend to do and keep some lube handy!

Good luck!

Re: Intimacy

Go slow but definitely go! Like the surgery itself, the fear is the worst part. It will be a little different, but if you approach it with a positive mindset, the differences can be very exciting :-)

For me, it was wonderful. Although I admit I still get achy the next day. But totally worth it!

Re: Intimacy

Thank you ladies.. I have to admit I have that nervousness I had when I was younger. I have read soo many horror stories that I have psyched myself out. Im glad that he has stopped looking at me with that "look" and has made himself busy with a video game. Im glad that I am not abnormal!!
Heres to a "great time" LOL

Re: Intimacy

I wasn't able to have sex when I was cleared because Hubby wasn't in country at the time, had to wait till I was 8 weeks before that happened, and when it did nothing felt any different then before, save one thing I actually had lubrication all my life to that point I'd never had natural lubrication so it was a real shocker for me to have it out of the blue.

However, for me there would only be one time we'd have blood and that was on our first weekend away - we still chuckle that the hotel cleaning staff must have though about me (must have though I was a virgin from all the blood that there was).

The blood didn't bother me, it upset him a lot because he though he'd hurt me but since nothing hurt and the blood flow stopped as soon as sex was over and never happened again it didn't bother me (even my GP a week later said nothing was torn, she though that it was just good old stressing out taking place - that is till a year later when she did my pap and found out I didn't have a heminn anymore ... lol).

Re: Intimacy

hi glowie,
don't put it off but certainly wait until you're ready.
take it slow, gentle and just have fun.make sure you both agree you will stop if you're not feeling great.
expect some bleeding,a little discomfort after(crampy pains) take painkillers.
it is different but still good for me and my OH.the O is even more intense for me and my OH says everything is fine!!!
just enjoy....
good luck
xx
