Tail-bone pain anyone ?
One would think that I had surgery of the tail bone. I've been experiencing tail-bone pain both before and after surgery.

Re: Tail-bone pain anyone ?
I had a lot of hip pain after the surgery from sitting so much. It went away once I was up & moving more. I hope you feel better soon.

Re: Tail-bone pain anyone ?
I have had the same problem both before and after surgery. I was starting to think that I had somehow bruised my tailbone but couldn"t remember how. I never mentioned it to my doctor because I had enough going on at the time. Now I think I will ask her about it. Will let you know what she says.

Re: Tail-bone pain anyone ?
OH, THANK YOU!! I was just ready to post a new thread on this problem,,,and scanned down and saw that someone else already has!! My tailbone has been hurting since surgery as well, and like you said,,,it feels like a terrible bruise back there. So much so, that I even asked my DH if he would look around and see if there was something visible that would be causing it. Nothing.
Today it hurts more than normal,,,and I think it may have to do with my walking around more than usual ... so I am going to settle here on the sofa for the rest of the day. Also....last night,,it even ITCHED like mad! My mom had a hysterectomy (DaVinci) in Sept.2009,,,and when I told her about my tailbone hurting,,,she said YES,,MINE DID TOO! She was actually 'relieved' to hear that it wasn't just her. Shes's wondering if it might have something to do with how they lay you on the table for surgery?? I didn't have the DaVinci...I had the VALH (vaginally assisted lapro)...but perhaps it DOES have something to do with how you are laying on the table and such. Definitely something to ask the doctor. And PLEASE...let me/us know if you find out anything.
HUGZ.

Re: Tail-bone pain anyone ?
I will be 3 months post op tomorrow and all of that lower back and leg aching has finally gone away. It has been gone for about a month now. I don't really know what causes it but apparently has something to do with the surgery. Hange in there, it will get better. The bad thing was, I remember there was nothing that made it feel any better. Not ibuprofin or any meds. Resting may have helped some. Keep resting.

Re: Tail-bone pain anyone ?
OMG! Thanks. I was beginning to think I had done something. I will have a good day and then 2 bad days with my tailbone hurting. Hurts to lay or sit. I just keep moving till I find a position that is comfortable. I had TVH on 4/19/2011 and I had the numbness in my legs for about a week and Tailbone is still hurting. I remember in the recovery room telling the nurse that my back hurt worse than my hip surgery. I guess I have a bit longer for it to heal but I will definetly tell the dr when I have my appointment.

Re: Tail-bone pain anyone ?
I have hip pain from sitting so much. I already had sciatic nerve dysfunction long before surgery that would flare up every now & then. All this sitting is aggravating my sciatica.
