Re: How long will I need dh home?

Mine is taking 3 weeks off. We live in different towns due to his work. I don't want to be in the house with a 9 year old and two teens without someone that can be able to run up the stairs and run to the stores if we need something. It is all about when I can drive.

Re: How long will I need dh home?

My driving was restricted 2 weeks, so I needed DH for that in addition to household help. After that however he was driving me crazy and I was ready for him to go back. But I love him and it would've been very difficult had he not been around.

Re: How long will I need dh home?

The first full day I was home, my dh had to go out for a couple of hours. The night before I wasn't worried about it, but that morning I was very glad when my mother showed up and offered to stay with me. I was still a little nauseous and also worried about being lightheaded. I tend to have low blood pressure anyway, and then with the blood loss, was concerned that I might get up too quickly and pass out. I was fine, but it was a comfort to have her there. My dh works a 24 hour shift and I would have found it very difficult to handle feeding the kids and getting them to bed, not to mention taking care of myself. If he worked for just the daytime though, I could have handled it if I had to. I did find that my kids activity and noise level were hard to deal with, even though they were trying to be good, and it was great to have my dh take them to the basement to watch a movie so I could have some peace and quiet.
