Thank you for this wonderful support tool

Although, I'm not on your site very often, I have to thank you for putting this in place. It has helped me tremendously in understanding how others who had a total hysterectomy, and where they are in certain phases of their recovery. I understand that every female is unique in their symptoms and recovery process. But it is always validating when you read that someone is experiencing the same thing as yourself. We are a unique group of women. And it is empowering that we all can overcome such illnesses and all that it brings after surgery.

I'm a positive person by nature. I'm also very strong. Well, I must be if I had severe endometriosis for years and just dealt with it. I didn't realize I had a large mass in the pelvic region until I had a CT scan while trying to pass a kidney stone. Thank God for that kidney stone. The doctors couldn't believe that I never felt the pain. I do have a very high tolerance for pain. Well I did feel the pain of that kidneys stone!!! I always had painful periods and just learned to deal with them. I'm 52 and had my hysterectomy on 8/17/10. I will confess, that I did begin to feel the endometrial pain one week before my scheduled surgery. From the time I had my ultrasound a month prior to the surgical date, the condition was quickly progressing. It had grown quickly at the end, and really had no place to go. My doctors said that it had already wrapped around all of my female organs, bladder, kidneys, etc. It took them 4 hours to clean my body from the endo.

Although, I'm dealing with the hot flashes at night, with muscle aches and pain first thing in the morning, I feel fantastic. Once I get up and moving, I don't have any complaints. I cannot believe the discomfort I was living with all those years. My belly no longer swells up after I eat. My bladder is working like it should, and I can hold it for hours. Totally unheard of before surgery. And I no longer have any pelvic stings and pings. That's what I used to call the radiant pains. Just my mind over matter in dealing with pain.

God Bless you and all your members. Now live life and live it strong!
