How long to see results with increasing Estradiol?

Been on 1 MG for years. The last month I have been getting hot flashes terrible. I just upped it to a whole pill which is 2 MG. How long should I give it before going in and trying something else. (52 hysterectomy @ 30 something)

Re: How long to see results with increasing Estradiol?

At least 4-6 weeks, maybe longer depending on your symptoms. Are you keeping a journal of your symptoms? Tracking the hot flashes? Do they occur at certain times of the day? May be better to take 1mg in the morning and 1mg later in the day.

Re: How long to see results with increasing Estradiol?

It's pretty much throughout the day. Near early morning is terrible. Starts at about 4 AM 2 hrs before the alarm goes off! Oh that long it takes I thought it was days Ok I will give it more time. Thanks

Re: How long to see results with increasing Estradiol?

If you're on oral estradiol 1mg, then I'd split the dose in 1/2 and take it twice/daily instead of once/day (assuming you are taking it in the morning). The oral estradiol starts declining around 10-12 hours after taking it, so it makes more sense to dose twice/daily with 1/2 the dose than taking it all at once.

Perhaps you're on a different form, you didn't mention what type.
