Bleeding after intercourse 12 weeks post op

Hello ladies,

Have any of you experienced bleeding after intercourse so long after your surgery? At my 6 week check up, my dr did do the silver nitrate treatment on 2 places that weren't healed all the way. My husband and I were given the green light for sex. That was over 6 weeks ago and we have had sex lots since then! Anyway, last night we had intercourse, and afterwards I started bleeding....bright red and enough to soak through a light day. I didn't bleed anymore during the night or today. (last night wasn't anymore aggressive or rough, for the lack of a better word, type of sex than we have been having since surgery)

I called my doctor this morning, and the nurse called just now to tell me that my doctor wants me to come in tomorrow to let her examine me. I told her that I couldn't come in tomorrow because of things going on at work that I can't be out. Anyway, the nurse made me an appt for Monday morning. The nurse said that my dr said it might be scar tissue.

My question is, if it is scar tissue, will they do the silver nitrate treatment again? If it is, why hasn't this happened any of the other times we had sex. If it isn't scar tissue, what are some other possibilities? I had my uterus and cervix removed and kept both ovaries. I asked the nurse this and she said that it was best for my dr to examine me and answer my questions at that time.

It is just aggrevating to think that you are finished with your recovery and have this happen. At least we are off Monday at work so I won't have to use another sick day!

Thanks for "listening' to me vent!

Sorry to hear of your set back. I hope that your DR will have good answers for you. Also, I think that recovery can take 6 months to a year. I worry too about things, when I still get pains here and there. But, I feel that if it doesn't last too long or doesn't go away after resting then I will contact the DR. Oh by the way I am also 12 weeks post op.

I hope everything works out.

I had a LAVH on the 1st of Dec. and went yesterday for my 6 wk check up. I also wasn't healing all the way, I had a few small polyps so my Dr. used the silver nitrate on them. I told her that I had still been spotting, more so when I am using the bathroom and she said it was from the polyps. I didn't get the okay for sex, she wants me to wait a few more weeks.. She did say that if I started to spot say 3 or 4 months post op that she would want to see me again and see if those polyps went away. If not then she would put silver nitrate on them again. Of course that is always assuming they are still relatively small. Please keep us posted on what your Dr decides for you. Hope you get good news.

It was a place that needed some more silver nitrate treatment. My dr said to let her know if I have anymore trouble. I hope this time I will heal!
