Lolubu!!
I can't speak for the rest, but I will never quit quitting......I have come a long way in a month, no longer going for smoke breaks at work. I am no longer smoking in the car, and I am able to go up to 2 1/2 days straight without them. But I am having a rough time of it. Now I am thinking about calling the dr. to see if I can do the patch and the Zyban at the same time.
I am so determined to reach this goal by Christmas, and the sooner I can do it the better, but I won't lie, its harder than I thought.
But I am not giving up. I keep telling myself what Jody said....everday is a new day, as well all the wonderful success stories here are great! I read through them often.
Thank you for keeping us going Lolubu!!
We can do it...YES WE CAN!!!!!
Hugs!!!
Maria.... soon to be NON :smokin: Maria!!

Hi Maria,

I'm sooo glad that you are still trying and not giving in. I'm sure that by Christmas you will be an ex-smoker for life.
I think quitting smoking was one of the most difficult things I ever did. But I'm very glad to say that once I smoked that last one,(Feb 13, 1989 eve. just before bed time.) I never picked up another one. I did not want to go through the quitting process again. At the time DH and I were quitting I thought sure a divorce was in the making. We were at each other about the stupidest things. We laugh a lot about it now.
So Dear Maria, don't cave in. Where there is a will there is a way. Just keep telling yourself you don't need that smoke.
I'm here cheering for you.
Go Maria go, you can do it.
Best wishes for a happier, healthier you.

Hi Ladies.

How are the QUITTERS doing?
I heard something today I thought I should pass along to you.

It is easier to quit smoking during the colder weather months. Partly because you are not allowed to smoke inside public places and its to cold to stand outside to smoke. So you smoke less.
It is easier to exersice when it is not as warm and while you are exersicing you are not smoking. Makes sence.....
Best wishes to all trying to make a change in their life.
Praying for the best for you.

Still cheering. You can do it, Yes, you can do it.

Hi Lolubu and Jody!!

Thanks for the vote of confidence!! Well...all I can tell you is I am on day two of this latest quit. I had a computer worm last week, and no word of a lie, I smoked a pack from 4 PM to midnight. One of my worst fears was that I would pass a virus or worm on to my friends in my address book, and that happened. Luckily I knew within 10 minutes that I had it, and was able to send a "don't open mail from me" warning out, and to my knowledge no one was infected.

So....that pretty much set me way back, but I started again this week, and although I would give my left arm for one about now, I am not doing it. I will just go to bed at 7PM everynight if need be.

So..thanks again, its great that we quitters have such wonderful support here...hmmmm where are those other quitters I wonder?? C'mon ladies.....come join me...misery loves company dontcha know!! We can do this, YES WE CAN!!!
Hugs to all!!
Maria xo

Well...just poppin in to let you know the latest!!
I am down to 3 a day only!! and seem to be in a holding pattern there. Its really strange. I can go 2 days without any...but the 3rd day...I gotta have one.
So...I stopped the Zyban for now, and am going to get through the holidays with my 3 a day, then in Jan. I will start again on the Zyban, and get rid of these 3.
I saw the Dr. on Monday, and although I promised her I would be off them by this appt. she was pleased and thought considering I am a 28 year smoker then I am doing well, and probably this is the best way for me to do it.
So...just wanted to let ya all know that this is where I am at. I was refraining from posting before now, as I was still hopeful to be able to report I was completely off them, but you have all been so supportative that I wanted to post now, and give you my progress report .
And I do feel its progress for sure, and I am pretty proud of myself so far!!!
Will keep ya posted!!
hmmm still wondering where the other quitters are though....I think we lost them. Come back girls...we can do this..Yes we can!!
Holiday Hugs

Thank you Jody!!
I am not where I had hoped to be or where I would like to be, but I have come a long way, and I know I can do this. I'll get through the holidays and then go at it with the Zyban again and even more determination for sure!!
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas as well (((Jody))))!
Love and holiday hugs!!

Maria, Good to hear from you.

I have said before and I'll say it again, "It is not easy to quit smoking". I'm still praying for you to change your habits.
I know you can do it after all that you have been through. Consider it a healing process. I't will not happen over night.

I'm still for you. You can do it, yes, you can do it.
Have a Happy Holiday then kick start your healthy habits come the new year. Best wishes.
