TAH Had my 2 Week Post-Op Appt Today :)

Well I went to the Dr today for my 2 week Post Op appt and Dr took off my Steri-strips and did a pelvic exam with her fingers and she said I am healing very well.
I also told her about the terrible Burning pain in my Left Groin area and crease of my leg and she said it was caused from the metal contraption that they used to hold my belly open during the 4 hour surgery.
She said that it tends to mess with the nerves in the leg but that it should go away soon. I was so relieved because I had been so worried I had a Blood Clot. What a relief!!!
She said I can start driving again the 2nd week of Feb and Sex will have to wait until the 1st part of March I still have restrictions on lifting and bending and cleaning such as vacuuming,sweeping etc. Exercise will also have to wait until at last March.
She said that unless I had an issue I didn't need to come back to see her.

I almost forgot, My Pathology report came back normal and NO cancer They did find some Fibroids but that was it!!!

That's all good news then. I am 2 weeks post op tomorrow but here in UK we dont see the surgeon until 6 weeks post op. Although the test on mine came back clear too

That sounds like some great news.
I had those symptoms too, making me worry about blood clot, but they did vanish as I am sure yours will too. Try to busy yourself with small things and take it easy on the big things to make sure your recovery continues to go so well.

I thought it ws kind of odd though that I wouldn't have to go back to see her again at 4 or 6 weeks post op. I guess it depends on the Dr. I am glad that I am healing and I will be glad when all the restrictions are lifted lol!

Yeah for the great news!! I have my 2 wk post op on Tuesday..getting a bit freaked out re: path reports.

Good news! It does depend on the doctor on how often they want to see you after surgery I think. I won't see mine until I'll be 7 weeks post op. I can't wait.

Congrats!!! I have my 2week post op next week. I have the same pain using ice pack time to time dr told me yesterday not to worry she took ou my 38 staples and told me to come back next week. So happy ur post op went well

Hi, new sister and post op too, really glad I found this site its been really usefull. i was worried about the same pain and you answer my question, i thought it was something with the blood on my legs, thanks!!! Now im 12 days post op and the only thing that bothers me are the gases and the pain on my left Groin. My release appt is on feb 24 arggggg, i though i will b able to celebrate valentines with my hubby, lol... Good luck to all sisters!!!!!
