Endo"ish" pain and "swelling" during sex?

This is embarrassing, but I had a total hysterectomy more than six months ago. I thought I was going in for endo but the surgeon said afterwards that I had NO endo, but adenomyosis, one fibroid, and one polyp.

Now I am having the same kind of "swelling" and pain during arousal and intercourse that I had before my surgery. I don't really seem to have this pain at any other time, (though I can't really say that I feel totally "normal" either, as things sometimes seem to shift down there).

Has anyone else had this? - particularly those of you without a cervix?

Thanks, sisters.

Have you talked to your doctor about your symptoms? Did you share that they were similar to what you experienced prior to your hysterectomy?

If no endometriosis was present at the time of your hysterectomy, statistics would indicate that endometriosis is not the problem now as it is rare to be diagnosed post hysterectomy. However, it is also possible that your doctor missed the endometriosis during your surgery. Did you see an endometriosis specialist by any chance?

I will confess, what you are describing isn't symptoms generally associated with endometriosis so I would lean toward there being another culprit. But I am not a medical professional so talk to your medical team.

I do recommend keeping a symptom diary of what you are experiencing and then sit down and discuss everything with your doctor.
