More surgery, not hyst related though

Well ladies just got back from Dr Cutie. What a nice nice doctor he is. Oh and in case I've neglected to mention it, he's cute too!

Anyways, about 2 weeks ago I developed this HUGE knot on my neck. As I was already seeing the doc for a post op check up I decided to ask him about it. He did get very very concerned when I showed it to him. Actually once I mentioned it he could see it. It's that large. He was hoping that it was just a swollen lymphnode and put me on anti-botics. The anti-botics did nothing but make me feel lousy

The doctor did an ultrasound on my neck today (on the spot I may add) and I have a large cyst. He actually used a more technical term, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. It did start with a "T". He said that it was highly unusual to see these in someone my age. All I could say was "yep, that's me, highly unusal"

The end result is that I am going to have to have surgery to have it removed. Doc said he could drain it but it would just come back and if we just leave it there is a danger that it could burst. He also said that it will just continue to grow larger and larger.

So, I guess Dr Cutie isn't getting rid of me so easily. LOL I did ask for a frequent flyer discount.

I'll let y'all know as soon as I get the particulars.

I did ask him about the twinges and pulling that I've been getting on my right side. He said that he was not surprised. He said that it may take awhile longer for everything to heal up. So as I really really trust this doctor, I will just wait it out and see how it goes. On the plus side, my pants are actually getting baggy on me. It's been quite awhile. Yeah!

Gosh, I just can't believe my luck. But whatcha going to do? At least I have a very great doctor taking care of me.

Kim,

Definitely stay in touch! I know you will! I am so sorry to hear that you have to undergo more of this surgical "nonsense" --- just my way of saying "ick".....

You have helped so many gals here, and I know you will have tons of support during this new surgery. Keep us updated even tho it is not "female" in nature. I am sure no one is going to mind you straying off the hyster sister path a tiny bit.

Love to you. And a BIG

Barbara

well thank god for Dr. Cutie.....at least he isn't referring you on to someone else or sending you for more tests.......he's just going to do it and that's that......although it stinks to have another procedure at least it's getting taken care of and by your favourite dr too!!

hopefully it won't be too invasive or painful or have a long recovery......you know we'll be with you every step of the way in any case.......big 's to you sister!!!

Yay for Dr. Cutie...

...he sounds great, and that's good news that your twinges are probably healing pains. (fingers crossed)

I had one of those cysts a coupla years ago...I can't remember what it was called, either! It was right under my breast, where the underwire of your bra rests. I thought it was caused by the bra (it was new, not my usual brand), but it wasn't. Luckily I had it taken care of in his office (wide awake) but if I had waited any longer and it grew bigger I would have had to spend some time in the OR. I guess yours is big enough to warrant more surgery. I'm so sorry, but it's good you're going to get rid of the nasty what's-it-called- cyst-thingy!

Hang in there!

Thanks ladies. I just got my date. Surgery is scheduled for Thursday Nov 29th at 7am. I wish it was a bit sooner, but with Thanksgiving being next week we lose a few days.

I feel like this thing is growing by the minute. Probably just my imagination. I hope.

Gidge, the nurse didn't seem too well informed. I asked if it was day surgery and she said yes. She said "same as last time, you will go home that day and than come see the doc the following week" That's about all I could squeeze out of her.

Judy, Doc Cutie is amazing. I don't think I've ever been this impressed by a doctor, especially after all I've been through. Thanks for the hugs and the

Sending s and s for all my friends here on the Road!
