Burning Ovaries Sensation...Anybody know what I mean?

Hello all. I'm new and want to make a decision on my situation really soon. I've been looking around here and I've noticed maybe one reference somewhere to the burning sensation on both sides...I've always said that I felt like my ovaries were on fire when I've gotten that pain. I'm wondering if people who did have this pain also have to have their ovaries removed...or it revealed problems with the ovaries like cysts or what? It's never been indicated in any of my ultrasounds, although that's all I've had...no other procedures like many of you have. I'm meeting with my GYN tomorrow but thought I'd ask you gals...you seem to be on top of this thing.

I know exactly what you mean. I feel like my ovary (I only have one) is on fire when it hurts. It's a burning sensation. The only cause we've been able to figure out for that so far is that I have constant cysts in my ovary, and when one of them ruptures or is leaking fluid out into my abdominal cavity, it irritates the lining causing a burning feeling. I was beginning to think that I was the only one feeling that.....whew!! I'm not crazy after all!! Take care......

KarenLS Thanks Much!!

I'm glad someone out there was reading my little post...I thought maybe I was crazy too! I'm going to see my Gyn this afternoon so I'll ask more specifically about this pain as an indicator of more problems than just huge fibroids. Thank you so much!

Hope all goes well....

I hope you find the answers to your questions. I had a Dr. who wouldn't do any diagnostic testing for me, and just told me it was normal to hurt during ovulation. What she couldn't tell me was why then, was I hurting for the majority of the month instead of a just a few days. I've since found another Dr. and have had some testing that revealed not only the cysts, but fibroids also. I can't imagine if I would've just taken her word for it, and continued to suffer........I knew something more was wrong. Stick with your gut instinct, however crazy you may think it is. Good luck at your Dr.'s appointment.....
