autumnraven -

There are many women here who have had an LAVH. Hopefully they will stop by and give you some insight on their experiences.

Remember that everyone's experiences are a little bit different but you can use them as a guideline.

Re: surgery scheduled for feb. 8, 2011

I had an LSH, and couldn't be happier! I never really had any pain, just fatigue. I was fully released at 4 weeks and have returned to my life!

I hope your experience is just as good! Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Re: surgery scheduled for feb. 8, 2011

I had the same kind of experience Sucre had. NO real pain just pretty tired and couldnt sleep real well but that is normal for me!! My recovery was very easy and I was back doing everything at 4 weeks post op, just listen to your body if you need more time take it, dont go crazy and be a superwoman because it can prolong your healing. Take care and take it easy during your recovery, you only get one chance at it!

Re: surgery scheduled for feb. 8, 2011

THE AUTUMN RAVEN-
I had LSH 1/11. Most of my pain was right after surgery, but had a morphine pump to help. Only a few pain pills needed afterwards. Gas stayed in my tummy instead of traveling to chest so that was VERY uncomfortable. Very hard to get up and move around for about a week. Better in wk 2. Since I felt better, I did too much so began spotting a week ago so Dr. ordered bed rest. Still very tender at incision sites. No appetite and have lost 10 lbs.

Everyone heals differently so I do wish you the best and for a most speedy recovery. The best part so far has been no cramps!!!!

Take care,

Re: surgery scheduled for feb. 8, 2011

I am also scheduled for February 8, 2011. Pre-Op appointment tomorrow. My nerves are beginning to kick in. I live in the Northeast and we are expecting another snowstorm on the day of my surgery (hope it’s not a sign). I will keep you in my prayers Autumn Raven as I understand how you must be feeling right now. Looking forward to sharing our stories next week
