FSH 64. Hello menopause!

So... my 21 yo daughter brought me roses for Valentines Day at work... and my beloved doc, that did my hyster 2 1/2 years ago and who is retiring on March 1st called... to tell me my blood test results were in and I was officially IN menopause. Not entering, not approaching, but IN menopause. At 45 years old.

Had my uterus removed November of 08 and had vaginal repair work done for prolapsed bladder and bowel... kept my ovaries. Of course, without a uterus there isn't any way to TRACK monthly cycles... so other than irritability and a few weeks of night sweats... (shrug)

Anyway, I thought I'd get the doc to give me some info and that's what he told me.

Anyone else get this info sort of suddenly and unexpectedly? I'm also gonna have to choose another doc to guide me through this... process? journey?

I've started taking Melatonin to help me get to sleep at night and I'm considering Estroven to ease night sweats and irritability...

Anyone?
