Anesthesia does a number on our bodies, and will make your hair go dormant for 8 weeks to 6 months. It will stop growing for a while, and you may or may not lose more that usual. Plus after a Hysto. your hormones are out of whack even if you keep your overies. And that will effect your hair and nails. Give it time it will start growing again, and will thicken back up if you lost a bunch.

Tizz: vitamins will not help your hair right now, unfortuantly you just have to give your body a chance to get back to normal. Not saying a muti vitamin isn't good, but I would talk to your Dr. about the right ones to take, because the extra iron is a concern, now that you are not having a period.

I find that taking the Futurebiotics hair, skin and nails supplements twice a day as a replacement to your regular multi vitamin helps the hair, nails and skin retain it's youthfullness after surgery. I have bene taking it for two years.
