Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Mar 07-Mar 13,2011

Hi Kellie,

Thank you so much for thinking of me. Sorry for the delay in responding. It has been a terrible few weeks with the pain. The fallopian tube that got out at the hysterectomy and is in my vagina has been bleeding. I called the Dr and she said she would get me in for surgery as quick as she could. Well the soonest turned out to be November 22. That is how it is in Canada. I work in the mornings as a special needs pre school teacher. By 1:00 the pain is terrible. Are you able to work? I hope you continue to have improvements every day. It is so hard to live with pain daily. Thanks again for thinking of me. Take Care. Katherine

Hi Kath - sorry you're having a rough time! I am right here with you. Had second pelvic floor reconstruction last month after the first failed, have developed a recto-vaginal fistula, am about to have a colostomy bag fitted and will need a bowel resection before the colostomy is able to be removed.
We'll both be better by Christmas!

I'm sorry you are both having problems! Thats awful that you have to wait til November. I hope that your surgeon has an earlier opening and that you are able to get in quicker.

Yep - still in pain - it comes and goes. Next option after PT is botox, which I'm not all that excited about and am not sure my insurance company covers it. I think it the botox requires more surgery but am not sure. I will find out in October. My dr has given me 2 more months of PT to see if it makes a difference.

Hi Sisters! Wondering how everyone is doing! Its our 18th month anniversary!! Anyway - has anyone had to do botox to help with levator muscle spasms? If so, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Have a great day!

Still recovering from the repair of my repairs. After 6.5 hours on the table and 4 units of blood, I developed a recto-vaginal fistula and had to go back into surgery for a colostomy. Once my body has a chance to heal the inflammation that comes with an RV Fistula, it will be repaired. Hopefully later this year. Also recovering from a blood clot and nerve damage in my legs (6.5 hours in stirrups will do that!).
Don't know anything about botox, though. My caveat would be, make sure the operator knows what he/she is doing.
