Combipatch adhesive problems

Hello all

I am three weeks out from surgery for removal of my second ovary. I have been using the Combipatch (estrogen/progesterone) and am having some issues. Even though I am careful to put the patch on clean, dry skin, it comes loose around the edges by the end of the day. It is also leaving adhesive marks that are extremely difficult to remove, especially because my skin is so sore and sensitive since the surgery. My abdomen looks like a coffee table after a party with no coasters

Just wondering if anyone has had the same or similar issues and can offer any advice. Thanks!

Re: Combipatch adhesive problems

I use rubbing alcohol to remove the adhesive. Sorry I can't help with your sticking issue.

Re: Combipatch adhesive problems

This is a wee late, but if you looked over other posts, you can get tegaderm adhesive patches at the pharmacy that you can put over the patch to get it to adhere better.

I stopped using them eventually and just got used to them sliding slightly and getting a little linty ring around the patch. you can place the patch on different areas you know.

Some stay to only put it on your abdomen or rear, but I've done fine enough on my thigh tops or biceps--I don't feel particularly sensitive to the estrogen absorbency differences; but my skin certainly likes the break from the patch!

Re: Combipatch adhesive problems

I did look through the old posts, but there is so much info to wade through I guess I missed that, thanks! I am starting to get used to the process and find that if I keep my hand over the patch for about 5 minutes after I apply it it sticks much better.

I appreciate hearing your experience with putting it in different places, I've had trouble getting answers about whether that works.

Thanks so much for your advice

Re: Combipatch adhesive problems

Baby oil is good for removing adhesive residue, without irritating the skin.
