Re: Removing Steristrips

Ok ladies... enough of that!

I stripped my steries but I think I will be ok afterall. I just wish I could see my incision better. Can you ladies see your incision site, or is there BELLY in the way for you, too?

Re: Removing Steristrips

I can't see my incision site ... but that's because it's INSIDE my vagina!! had a suprapubic catheter and I can see what's left of that tiny hole - when the gas isn't too bad. I can see a stitch at my introitus but only with a mirror (I am not a contortionist!)

Re: Removing Steristrips

uneventful, really. I have been very good about staying in bed for the full two weeks following surgery. Now I am struggling to build my level of activity towards normal. I think my BP may be low - I feel 'off' when I am up and about - pain sometimes but I've had worse period pain, yanno. The only answer for that, I think is to push it a little.
The morning poo still has horns and so does the gas when it moves past something (not sure what but it HURTS).

Re: Removing Steristrips

Not entirely related but I had a tummy tuck 2 yrs ago and had strips from the back of one hip to the back of the other (no stitches or staples) . 7-10 days sounds about right. they were peeling up and the ends and I would clip the edges off but about 10 days I got tired of messing with em and just pulled them off You did have time for the incision to adhere under staples so Im pretty sure yer doin A OK!

Re: Removing Steristrips

I could see my incision site very well lying down. I had a roll over top the incision when I stood up. Now there is a slight roll over top when I stand but I can see the incision so the roll is going away slowly.

I have a belly in the way, although I can see the top vertical incision (I have an inverted T incision, I can't see the horizontal one, grrrr!!!!)

I had to have a double incision, due to the fact my uterus weighed quite a bit, and the other surgeon assisting didn't want to have to do a second surgery repair on my already repaired hernia.

I'm wondering if there's anything cream-wise that would reduce the scars from all three incisions. They're quite ugly, iykwim
