What's a uterus weigh?

Sounds like the old joke: What's a hen-weigh?

But really, I just got back my pathology report and it says my uterus weighed 130 grams? Is that normal?

Also, my ovary weighed 88 grams.

I know I saw postings about what the normal ranges are, but I can't find them.

Any help would be great.

Oh, and I also had Adenomyosis.

Just found the answer

Okay, I just did some research and this is what I found:

Normal Uterus: 50 - 80 grams

Normal Ovary: 6 - 8 grams

What's a uterus weigh?

All I know is that I was very disappointed when my fibroid-filled uterus didn't weigh 20 pounds

Seriously, in pounds, a normal uterus is supposed to weigh less than 1 pound.

What's a uterus weigh?

Mine weighed 160 gms. DR said normal was 70, so mine was a "healthy" size. My cervix was long too, he said. About 3-4 inches. I didn't remember to bring home the path report. You know-brain fog, compounded w/ an incision infection.

no wonder I was in pain!!!

Well, now I know why I was in pain!! Mine accroding to my path report weighed 451 grams; 10.7x10.0x5.7 cm. My left overy and tube were "glued" to uterus but on their own, the ovary was 6.2x3.0x3.0cm. At least now I know what in there was causing ALL my pain as well as a spot they thought was my right ovary but was in fact an endometreium growing on its own where my right overy used to be. Had surgery 6 years ago to remove tube and ovary but later ultrasound by another doctor(because of insurance change) showed only tube was taken. Swore they saw an ovary!! WRONG!!! This was already growing back 4 years ago!!!

Maggiespatient-- I asked my doctor for my copy of the path report at my 4 week postop. He made me a copy right then. Ask them when you see him again! It does help reaffirm WHY we HAD to have this surgery when you read about what all was found inside of you!!
