Sex Drive is Gone

It has been quite a while since I posted here.
A year ago I had a hysterectomy with one ovary and my cervix removed. My sex drive was great sex was great because of no more pain. Then Boooom on Sept 13 I had to have my last ovary removed and I went on premarin 1.25 mg. Since then my sex drive has decreased and over the past month I have had no sex drive at all.
This is making me and of course my husband miserable. Nothing seems to work. I can not have an orgasm which is driving me nuts too.
Helpppppppppppppppppp

Sex Drive is Gone

(((Denise)))
Sorry you find yourself here again
When I was on Premarin I had MAJOR trouble in the orgasm department too. It just didn't work for me When I changed to a bio-identical (natural)estrogen everything was fine. Have you looked at the HJ homepage http://www.hormonejungle.com/
There is a lot of info there for your perusal.........if you have any more ?? we'll try and help. of course it depends on your age, but 1.25mg of Premarin is a largish dose and maybe that's the problem? Too much estrogen can really put a dampener on your sex life. Sometimes oral estrogen (no matter what type) can have the same effect. Not everyone mind you, but for some. The reason is that it is processed in the liver first and increases sex hormone binding globulin, so whilst you have hormones floating around, they are not available for use. 1.25mg Premarin would definitely fit into that category.

Lily's ideas on estrogen are great. You might also look at the article I researched specifically on other things that help libido-- www.hormonejungle.com/libido.php

I too had trouble in the orgasm department. Changed from estradoil to estratst, everything is fine now. Still not sure if its the right HRT but libido is much better!
