Vaginal odor & bleeding 2nd week post op

Had TAH on 3/14 where I also did a tummy tuck, breast lift and augmentation (not recommended to combine all of these). Anyway......I forgot to mention to the gyno today at my post op appt that I have this kinda funky odor and still reddish brown spotting. More than a pantiliner qty but not filling up a pad a day. I will call him tomorrow but do I have an infection? Been taking oral antibiotics since release from the hospital.

I'm only 5 days post, but I can't imagine this funky smell being gone as soon as I would like it to be! But my doctor warned me it would be several weeks before it dissipated.

So the funk could be normal? The thought of enduring a pelvic exam & swab is making me cringe.

That smell was rank but it went away about a week later. I found out it is common post op but it freaked me out.

It's not too bad. Ask them to use a small speculum. They have ones they use for girls that aren't sexually active.

The funk will go.
I was soooo grossing me out. I was showering 4 times a day and nothing would make that smell go. Was wondering if I would smell like that forever. But it did go. I'm 5/6weeks now and funky smell free.

If you think its a bit more than normal you should go see your Doc though.

Thank GOD!! I got on here, 7 days post-op and I have an offensive smell, it does smell like a bad tampon. I feel like I have been too whiney to call the doctor again. You girls saved the day with your posts. I have kept myself very clean and this smell bothered me, especially because my 18 month old black lab shoved her nose up my crotch (she is a crotch sniffer, totally embarassing) and the fur on her back stood up. Whew!

I'm 4weeks3days post op and the funk is about gone - both the discharge and the odor. Yuck. It was nasty. Still can't figure out where it was coming from as I had the cervix and uterus removed. Shouldn't the vagina be sealed up tight with stitches? Will ask on the 25th when I go for the 6w post op appt.
