Pathology back...

I had my post-op visit this past Monday (at three weeks) and everyhting looks great. I have to say that aside from some discomfort after being very active and being so tired, I am doing much better than I thought I would.

My pathology showed small fibroids, some endo and as suspected adenomysosis. I am so relieved that I made this decision and did not try ablation. I know that from here on out my problems are gone.

This Thanksgiving I am thabnkful that I have my family with me and that I am finally free of a lifetime of pain and all the other "stuff" realted to my gyn issues. I have two beautiful children (we formed our family through adoption), a great husband and my Mom and most importanlty my health. For the first time in my life I can make plans and not wonder if they will need to be cancelled because of my period. I know that once it is ok for me to resume relations with my husband there will likely be none of the discomfort I had in the past. No more buying several packages of supersize, overnight with wings pads to double and triple and still flood after 20 minutes! No more curled in a fetal postion pain...and as so many of you know I could go on and on....

I am thankful for so much this Thanksgiving, even as I grieve for the tragedy that our country has gone through, and I am especially thankful I went through with the surgery!
