Unhappy - Mesh Trimming / Rejection Mesh Trimming / Rejection

Hello, I am new to these forums, but have browsed through the forums for months now and have found them very helpful. I had a Da Vinci hysterectomy in February leaving the left ovary and removing everything else. THey also put in a mesh bladder sling. I just had my 8 week post op and the hysterectomy part of the surgery is healing fine, but the doctor says that my body is rejecting the mesh, pushing it out, and it is exposed. She did not seem sure what she should do about it at first, so she left the room for about 10 minutes and them came back saying that she would need to do more surgery and trim it. That is about all the information I got. I feel like I do not know what is going on. In my mind, if my body is rejecting the mesh why aren't we just taking it out. I have had off and on pain and UTI's since the beginning, but it is helping with the incontinence. I just want this to be done with. Any advise on what questions I should be asking before just going blinding into another surgery??? I am quite discouraged and depressed; I was expecting to go into my post op yesterday and get a clean bill of health, not this. Thanks

Re: Mesh Trimming / Rejection

Go to a doctor that will take the mesh out. It will only get worse. I have been dealing with this nightmare for 1 and a half yrs. That material should not be placed in a women's pelvis. I can't believe that "educated" doctors don't see this. I had mine in a year and was dealing with partial removals, finally had it all out after it had been in there a yr. What a difference! There is a reason there are FDA warnings regarding that crap. A shame that doctors don't bother to tell us that before placing it in our precious bodies.
