Generic Estrodiol?

I had TAH/BSO a little over a year ago and was started on Premarin right away following surgery. My gynecologist recommended staying on the Premarin. However, I spoke with my general practitioner and was told by her that Estradiol had fewer "types" of estrogen and I might not need all that was in the Premarin. I decided to give Estradiol a try and had the prescription filled yesterday. I was given a generic and am wondering how this compares. Is anyone else taking a generic? I don't mind taking generics for certain short term medications, but don't want to mess around with HRT and not get the best quality. Any thoughts?

I use generic Estradiol (vaginally) and it works just fine. :O)

Me too. The only difference between the generic and name brand is (from what I've read) that the name brand Estrace will dissolve better if using it transbucally.
