Surgery Date Rescheduled, Almost Cancelled
My date has been rescheduled to May 5, but it almost didn't happen.
I went for my preop on Monday and everything went smoothly, but when I went for registration, everything changed. The hospital has changed its financial side and they now want $8000 by the date of surgery or they will not allow it to happen. I was devastated. I was going to try a D&C to see if it would relieve the pain, but the doctor does not do them in his office, so I was screwed there, too.
I thought all hope was lost until I spoke to a woman I go to church with and she offered to loan me the money for the surgery and let me pay it back however I can. I am so blessed!!
So, the rollercoaster starts again.

Oh my gosh, that's just insane! I have never heard of a hospital not at least allowing you to set up a payment plan--did they say no?
Anyway, it is wonderful you had such a kind offer from a fellow church member. I hope that works out well and you can proceed with no more hurdles.
Hugs,
dee

Surgery Date Rescheduled, Almost Cancelled
The hospital said no because there was an amount from 2007 left unpaid that I did not know about (I was on insurance and I thought they paid it all.)
I do know from my preop that he will be removing my uterus and cervix but leaving my ovaries unless something is wrong with them. He also told me to take a 45 minute bath the night before. Anyone know why?

Hmmm. The bath thing is new to me. Is it possibly to cleanse to reduce risk of infection?

I don't know. Maybe to relax you to help you sleep? No clue.
