4 years post surgery, want to do bio identical now?

I am 52 and had my hysterectomy almost 4 years ago. I kept my ovaries and am dealing with natural menopause. However, I want to begin hormone therapy with bioidentical hormones. What are my choices and options? A doctor that my friend put me in touch with doesn't take health insurance and it costs Thousands per year, $1500 up front! My gyne initially had me on just testosterone, but I stopped that 2 years ago in the hopes that I would lose weight. Silly me. I am now working on the 30 lbs. plus more that I have gained in the past 9 years. I have lost almost 15 pounds in 6 weeks via weight watchers and feel confident to take on hormone therapy now. that is alot of money. No way it should cost that much. There are many bio identical hormone products. Some available from regular pharmacies and some from Compounding Pharmacies. I use compounded hormones, which my regular doctor prescribes. I do not have to go to some specialty center that charges an arm and a leg.
