disability insurance co.

vent vent rant rant

Okay, yes I am glad I have disability insurance and I pay for the privilege. Having said that, they are being such a pain !!! I did not think to ask ahead of time how long they would cover me. I foolishly thought they would cover what the doctor said. WRONG!

I don't want to say more about it since I use my real name. Suffice to say I hope the doctor is very sympathetic tomorrow when I tell her just how awful the past 3 weeks have been....

Hi Doreen, I'm sorry you're having these problems. It can be very frustrating dealing with insurance companies and in your case, disability insurance.

I think that disability requirements may differ from state to state, so it may take a little more researching on your part. Do you have a Human Resources manager at your job? If so, I would think that he/she would be able to guide you in the right direction.

I know that in NJ there are both short term and long term disability insurances, although I don't really know the particulars of how each works. If your Dr. agrees that your disability should continue, it may be a matter of switching from short term to long term, and no doubt there will be paperwork involved :confuse: I wish you luck!

Best wishes and 's
