Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 09-May 15,2011
Well I made it through treating a couple of patients yesterday, no heavy lifting....they could move on their own. Can't believe how stiff I am today, but otherwise okay. I definately need to do some stretching of my own and increase my walking activities....but time for a nap
Hope all is going well with my sisters

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 09-May 15,2011
Agr13, I am sorry you are not feeling well. Hopefully the doc will have something he/she can do to help you feel better soon.
Miaalma, only you can tell if what you did is too much. If you are hurting, take it easy. Remember, one chance to heal right. Hugs to you. I don't think I would be up to all that most days but my situation is different due to the added complication of muscular dystrophy.
Yesterday I dusted, did a shopping list and coupon organizing, made a pie ( French silk) and made an easy supper ( sloppy joes, salad and chips). I usually make everything from scratch including noodles, soup, casseroles, etc. but with the current energy level I have loved convenience foods like Hamburger Helper and DH has been cooking too but he does like a main dish and no sides so... I am missing my cooking. LOL
I am 6 weeks tomorrow ( surg May 6th) and feeling so much better, just tired and achy at the end of the day if I do too much. And the sleep is still in spurts and not long shifts. Sometime I will sleep through the night, hopefully soon.

I just wanted to invite you all to pop in over on the
Pre-op forum when you have time. We still have many sisters in waiting that could use some good advice and lots of hugs.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 09-May 15,2011
Today was my official post-op appointment. I'm 5 weeks, 2 days and have to go back to work on Sunday, so had to get the necessary paperwork to clear back through our health services.
Doc said everything is looking good, I still have a suture in the cuff, but he expects that will resolve itself. Told me to slowly increase activities as I feel up to it, but to remember that I won't be fully healed for some time. I also gave him a copy of the letter I sent to the hospital and went over a few of the highlights. He assured me that he would also be taking the issues up with the necessary people, so that made me feel better.
Both of my younger 2 also had appointments today for various things, then we followed that with our monthly pilgrimage to Sam's Club. Ugh. It wears me out on a GOOD day, but on 6 hours sleep and 3 doctor appointments day, my belly isn't happy and I'm worn out.
I'm free of anything else until Sunday when I have to go to health services in the AM and work overnight. I'm dreading getting my insomniac self back on the 3rd shift sleep schedule, but trying to be positive about it. Ear plugs and Benadryl. Hopefully, that will do the trick to get me readjusted.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 09-May 15,2011
I am winning against tiredness, spotting is less as are twinges so have been feeling less stressed and THEN I'm told if I call in sick, it will be without pay until my sick leave builds up. Thank you very much for destroying the little self esteem and stress free feeling I'd gained.
