Southborolas - OOOh a European vacation sounds heavenly. What countries are you going to see?

Happy Friday Ladies!!!!

My brother and his wife are coming to town at the end of next week. I have not seen them for six years so it will a be nice visit.

Trying to get my flower garden into shape after not doing anything last year, of course. Will take some time to replace what died, but I should be able to recover most of it.

Hope all have a great weekend....

((((Hugs)))

Happy June! I'm out visiting my son in Callifornia - just got out here last night. It's so good to see him. We only see each othe maybe once or twice a year now that he's moved across the country. We talk or text every week but it's good to be with him. We're headed up to Napa to go wine tasting and have a reservation at a wonderful restaurant for dinner. I'm very excited. I hope all is well with everyone!
Southboro- it's exciting that you are going to Europe next year! Let us know where. I'll be headed to Spain for the Christmas holidays. My BF is Spanish and he goes home every year to see his family so I usually join him between Christmas and New Years. I haven't been there in a couple years with everything going on health wise but this year we're planning a nice trip. We'll be in Barcelona and Madrid. I can't wait. I really miss the food and scenery.
Well I hope everyone has a good week!

Well, for the first time we are not regularly posting, which I take to be a good sign for one and all. Happy to hear about your delightful vacations -
I get mine at the end of June and am returning to Colorado.

Been working at getting in shape, and I started riding the bike 3x a week, and doing some weights (nothing heavy), and I do notice a difference. Of course it helps that I am no longer eating ice cream 4x a week...

Cheers and happy vacation to all!

Happy Sunday, ladies.

I had a marvelous visit with my brother and SIL yesterday.

We had a horrible hail storm here on Wed of last week that took out a good chunk of my flower beds , and did some damage to window screens, a few dents in our new truck, etc. Will call insurance tomorrow to have them come out and look...

Hope all had a good weekend and a good upcoming week.

Hello my friends,
I just wanted to ask you to keep my mom in your prayers. She had emergency heart surgery on Sunday and is having some other issues to deal with. Things appear to be not so good. My sister is in to help me but it is a very tough time for us all. I just thought I could gather some positive vibes to help her heal.
Thanks,
Frieda (RPI 101)

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 16-May 22,2011

rpi: Sorry to hear about your mom's heart issue and that she isn't doing so well after her surgery. I really do hope things do start to improve for her! Sometimes things turn around after a rocky start following surgery and I hope that's what happens in this case... definately sending all my positive vibes your way, for you, your mom, and your sister, too!

Today I went back to my gyno for my one year check up following surgery and I was hoping for a less painful experience than last year at this time. Part of it went well, but the internal exam was somewhat painful and uncomfortable. Maybe this doctor isn't as good at it as my last doctor (the one I chose to not do my surgery because he wanted to remove everything and I thought that was too radical for me). I don't know what the problem was that caused the discomfort today, but she said everything seemed fine internally and there were no problems (like ovarian cysts).

Will hear about the pap and hpv test results in a couple of weeks, but I don't expect anything to turn up positive based on my past results with the pap. Never was tested for hpv before and the doctor said that they had just started testing for it routinely in the past couple of years. Not a bad idea, I guess. Don't expect to find out anything shocking there, either. I will still be happy to get the results and know there's nothing to worry about.

rpi - I am so sorry about your mom. I know it is so hard to see your mom like that. We will all send positive hystersister thoughts to you and your whole family.

roxy - I am sorry your exam was painful, but glad no masses were found. I am sure all tests will come back good.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 16-May 22,2011

rpi, very sorry to hear about your mom, sending my best wishes your way. keep us posted.

roxy, hope everything goes your way, too. My doc will continue to give me paps every year.

I don't seem to be getting notification of posts like I used to....hmmm.
I am posting a link here to a good site for exercises that target the pelvic floor. It is a tricky area to exercise, and this woman seems to understand it very well. Her name is Michelle Kenway and she has a lot of videos on youtube: <Admin note: link removed. Links to youtube videos not allowed in posts>

I am officially on summer vacation!! Hoot and hollar!

cheers to all!

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates May 16-May 22,2011

Thanks Emely for the good thoughts.
I don't seem to be getting the notifications so much either but it looks like there are fewer posts than there were a year ago. That is a good thing I guess.
My mom is still in the ICU after a week bu I think she is getting stronger. I thought my surgery last year took a lot out of me but heart surgery on a 78 year old is even harder. There were a few complications with the surgery and other issues that we need to address but one thing at a time.
I go back to work next week so will make it interesting juggling hospital visits and work.
