any invetro sites out there?

I know this is a bit off the topic...however, I'm a great fan and admirer of the hystersister site and thought someone might have a support group site for invetro (am I spelling that right?) In any case, my cousin made a decision to go that route to become pregnant and has now had 6 attempts with no pregnancies. She was encouraged to do so after I told her that I had a TAH last year and at 38 if she was thinking of starting a family to not put it off any longer.
So, what I'm getting at, and I hope I'm wrong, she has two more tries left and in case it doesn't work out, I wonder if anyone has run across a support site for this. If so, could you please forward the e-mail address? I know what it's like to not have children in my situation, although I never TRIED to have children, I wanted them when I finished with college....she has always really wanted children (just one). I'm worried that she might need the same special support system that hystersisters offers we ladies. I so hope I'm wrong about this.
Thank you!

any invetro sites out there?

Hi SB,

Sorry to say that I haven't heard of such a site. However, that does not mean that it doesn't exist. Maybe you can try an internet search on the subject. There may be a link attatched to a health site like WebMD. Its worth a try, I think. I hope your cousin finds success soon.

Has she looked into the possiblity of adoption? There are many wonderful children whose hearts are waiting for someone to love.
Maybe she would be receptive to this idea. I hope she doesn't see this invetro as her last chance to have a family.

Hugs & Prayers,

any invetro sites out there?

The fertility doctor I went to was Dr. Mark Perloe. His website is www.ivf.com. I know of two other people that got pregnant after going to him. I never did have to go through the invetro, but I'm sure he has got links to great support groups and sites. This doctor has written articles in cosmo and other magazines. Also, there was a article in women's world where a women had gotten pregnant after seeing Dr. Perloe. My problem was pcos and insulin resistance. After I started glucophage I was pregnant within a few days. I was told I would never be able to have another child (I have a daughter) by numerous of doctors. I'm so glad you told them not to wait to get pregnant. I have a friend that had cervical cancer and the doctors told her if she wanted to get pregnant to go ahead and try. She will probably have to have a hyst soon. But, she keeps saying I'm going to wait a little longer and that's been at least 2 1/2 years ago. I hope that the next invetro tries will work.
