Tail bone/siatica pain?

I'm 3 weeks post op TVA. I have pain (sorta a throb) around the base of my spine/tail bone area. Maybe siatica? Has anyone experienced this? Normal or just me? Will it go away. Everything seems to be getting better but this.

Thanks.

Tail bone/siatica pain?

Did you have a spinal anesthetic? If not, I would call the doctor. I had similar symptoms prior to my hyst and it turns out that I have arthritis. Better to be safe than sorry, but I would be curious to see if any other sisters have experienced this...

Please keep me posted on your recovery,
All the best,
Rita

Tail bone/siatica pain?

Kate - I had some sciatic nerve problems prior to hyst. and my leg was always hurting too. Use search engine at the top and search by keyword "sciatic"...that will give you some posts to read.

However, I agree with Rita...call your gyn.

PS - I used heating pad on lower back after surgery...neck and tummy too..just kept moving it around I know how tailbone pain can be though...I broke mine once and had to sit on a little inflated donut for several weeks due to the pain.

Hope you find some answers. Keep us posted.

tailbone!

Sometimes the internet can scare you. I looked up sciatic and also tailbone. It seems the tailbone can get dislodged during childbirth and other traumas. A doctor can push it back in place. Ouch! I'm wondering if I have that or just swelling which puts pressure. Think I'll call my doc today. I find docs don't like to hear "I was on the internet and..." but I like it.

Tail bone/siatica pain?

I have had siatica pain occasionally. I think all the swelling and pressure I experienced with the endo caused my tailone to go out of alignment. I had really bad pain right before surgery. Usually I go to the chiropracter a few times and it's fine. Mine acted up the day before surgery so I could only go once. Then right after surgery it did it again and there wasn't a thing anyone could do. I found that if I laid in the position that he put me in when he adjusted me, and tried to rest in that position it loosened up and went back to normal.
I laid on my side (as best I could, I think I put a flat pillow under my tummy) with the bottom leg straight, and the top bent and resting on the bed. Kind of like make a "4" with my legs. I rested that way for a day and the next it was fine. I hope this helps. There is enough to deal with during recovery without "extras."

Thanks

Thanks for the side idea. I've had the tailbone pain for 4 days. X rays say it isn't broken or dislocated so we assume it is brused by my bed posture. Hope it heals soooooon.
