Re: JUNE B.E.S.T. Chatter thread

Hi Best Friends~

Today is going pretty well for me. How is it going for you guys?

I went to the doctors yesterday and told him that I have been very tired since starting new med for my diabetes and he thinks we need to give it more time so see if I will adjust. Plus wants to see what happens at WW'ers, that its possible I can get it decreased or even off all together. That would be awesome!

I also saw my therapist yesterday (yes, I see a therapist and NO, I am not crazy...well not all the time anyway )and she said she is proud of the progress I am making with her. She thinks that my joining WW'ers and posting here is gonna be really good for me! I have a tendency to avoid things I am uncomfortable dealing with and my weight is a big one of those. I've always been the type of person that thinks if I don't acknowledge it, then it isn't happening! Not really a good thing!

Hope we all have a really great Op day!

Re: JUNE B.E.S.T. Chatter thread

Dawn - good for you trying to work all issues in order to get as healthy as possible. And I'm with you. I'm not crazy all the time either!

Relaxing day? Not actually - only partly. I slept in late after having a lousy night. Got up feeling like I was having trouble getting oxygen in again - voice is a bit rough and the cough has come back. ACK!! Guess I spoke too soon last evening. Figures.
Seemed to be getting worse all though out the day. In fact I did not make reservations for a luau at a local country club we were supposed to be attending. I just think I'm not quite well enough to go out and party tomorrow evening. All our friends from work will be there - hate to miss out - but we have the entire summer to see each other.

I decided I wanted to wash BABY in case I took her to the car show tomorrw or on Sunday. So I prettied her up. Actually enjoyed it. Didn't work up a sweat or anything.

Had just gotten in the pool when MIL & Grand MIL show up. So out I get and found to my surprise they brought the fixings for dinner. How cool was that! We had bacon wrapped filet mignon's with fresh zuchinni, baked potato and side salad. Fresh cantalope for dessert. MIL did all the cooking. Then 4 fun games of Scrabble.

It was a nice day despite this darned breathing/chest thing. Wish I had an inhaler - that's what I feel like I need...... I've even turned on the air conditioning hoping the "dehumidified" air would help. No such luck.

Off to bed. DH is on his way home from D.C. I'm sure they had a good time.

Night all - Hugs to everyone,
M.

Re: JUNE B.E.S.T. Chatter thread

Thanks so much ladies, I had a very nice day. I was most definitely NOT OP today, but the best thing is that I seem to notice when I am full now. Most of the time. Or, well, some of the time. Once in a while, anyway We went out for sundaes to a place where they were not gigantically overwhelming, and had a nice drive through the wooded roads on the way home. Small dinner, then mowed the lawn and Pedometer (at this moment) says 9999 steps so by the time I go to bed I will have met the elusive goal of 10,000 steps. I'm so bad at getting in the extra steps, and the elliptical does not count, does not record on the pedometer.

Back to real life tomorrow, better eating, better choices and back to exercising a little self-control. Interesting concept, self-control, regarding food. All new, still new!

Big to all my BEST

Re: JUNE B.E.S.T. Chatter thread

Happy Sunday, everyone! Just had to mention that I received the Zumba for the Wii from DD, and tried it out today. It was fun, thought it was awful and wanted me to stop but I stuck with it.

Thank you again for the birthday wishes. I really made it a ME weekend, and it worked.

Remember you are now closer to next Christmas than you were to last Christmas, so maybe you want to start shopping!

Re: JUNE B.E.S.T. Chatter thread

Hi Everyone
Happy Belated Birthday Desk! it is so funny your fur baby doesn't like your WII Zumba. thank you for the inspirational talk, you are awesome.
Melissa, hope you are doing better.
It is getting late so I won't address individuals, but to answer a question the Grandbabe is due August 3rd, but she is having an ultradound tomorrow to check the weight because her tummy is measuring further along. It is amazing what they do. LOL
DH and I bought them a small hand held camcorder and one for us too, they were on sale at a really good price. The house work is going too slow for me, but I am hoping to really get alot done this week, we went and bought paint for my sewing/Colton's room. I am hoping to get DSs room cleaned out in the next couple of days and get the other DS moved into there. I need an army of help, any takers??
I will talk to you tomorrow, I am starting journaling my food intake tomorrow. *Thank You Desk* Talk to you soon.

Re: JUNE B.E.S.T. Chatter thread

Hi All!

It's a beautiful day here today, but it was another weekend of pouring rains. There's been a lot of devastation around us, but we have been spared in our community. The ground here is saturated to the point of being spongy...problems with propane gas lines breaking (yikes!) and our roads and streets are buckling, etc. It's minor compared to the communities that are literally underwater. Of course, the looting has begun. You must have to be pretty desperate to row a boat up to someone's house, float inside and steal what was left behind by a devastated homeowner. Ugh. (end of rant)

I know you've been waiting with great anticipation for my book report (), but I'm still working through it.

Desk...I know I already wished you well on the daily thread, but here's a little something for you: So glad you took the day and made it special your way! Enjoy that new Wii program! Fun!

Margo...Wow! Your days of grandmothering will begin soon! You know that if I were near you, I'd be there in a flash to help. ...nothing I'd love more! I've been left with an empty bedroom, and I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. I want DS22 to feel comfortable when he visits, but I'd like to do it "my style" ...not teenage boy style! LOL The empty room is a little jarring for DH and me...we miss our kids! Enjoy your new camera...and your project! FUN!

Melissa...Hope you're feeling much better now and can be enjoying your pool! If not, snuggle up, get lots of rest and fluids and be the princess! You've been so busy doing for others...time to take care of yourself, and let others take care of you. Hard, I know, but necessary! HUGS!!

Dawn...I think it's great that you are seeking help from a therapist. Good for you!! I'm a big supporter of proactive actions...whatever form they take! I hope you'll share what you learn!

Valorie...So glad you're feeling better! Hope the weather cooperated with the painting project! I'm jealous of those delicious greens you're enjoying from your garden, and don't even get me started on the greenhouse! LOL Lucky duck!

Barri...Hope all is going well with you! I think of you often as you now have a multi generational household too.

Nancy...If you're popping in, hope the vacation is great fun!

Hugs to all!

Re: JUNE B.E.S.T. Chatter thread

Desk - good job of having a "me" birthday weekend. You look wonderful in you FB photo's.

PJ - I'm so sorry to hear about the floods out your way. It must be so devistating for those families effected. I just can't even imagine.

Margo - July 28 would be a good day for new Dg-baby to come!

To everyone - I am finally feeling better. My breathing was pretty good yesterday & today. At least my check doesn't have the elephant on it any longer. One good thing about being sick - I haven't felt like eating - too sick to grocery shop so no snacks in the house - I'm very pleased with the scale at the moment.

I do believe DH has come down with my plague. He's feeling rotten, coughing up gunk. Will have to call his doctor tomorrow if he is any worse.

I did get my shots in my knees again today. They are feeling quite good. The doc says I should NOT put off the surgery. Just go ahead and get it over with. I'll see how the summer goes then make my decision in the fall. I've so many things health wise that have come up in the past few months. Just don't know which one to start with. But June 2012 is closer than I think - then no more health insurance unless we buy it.

And Desk - you can forget about how close Xmas is - I refuse to go there!!!!!!

M.
