Surgery in July

I am scheduled to have DaVH on July 8th, and I can't wait!

My journey down this path began with the birth of my second child. My husband and I knew that she would be our last, so we opted for a tubal. Since I was having a repeat C-section with this birth, my doctor decided to do the tubal while I was still on the table. While in there, he discovered a good bit of scar tissue from the first C-section, so the removal of that plus the tubal meant I was in the OR about half an hour longer than we had anticipated.

My periods following the tubal got increasingly heavier, and my PMS/DMS (during menstrual syndrome ) got worse. Right after my daughter turned two, I discussed these changes with my doctor. (He's the best OBGYN ever - just like talking to one of the girls!) He recommended Novasure. His wife had just had the same procedure and had gone on and on about how wonderful it was. So, I decided to do it too.

My periods never went to just spotting or practically nothing like others I know have reported to me. The first 6 months, my periods were slightly less than what they were in my pre-mommy days, but not by much. Over the next couple of years, they began to return to their pre-Novasure state. Then in late 2007, I had several ovarian cysts burst, and I didn't even know that they were there.

Within the last few months, my cycle has "lost its mind." I went from 29 days to 45 days to 13 days to 10 days to 18 days. Each time, I bled for a solid week. I have been plagued with terrible cramps, nausea, migraines, horrible mood swings, and dizzy spells. Enough was enough! My awesome doctor scheduled me for the da Vinci surgery, and I will be so glad to have it done! I'm glad I went back when I did because another cyst had already manifested in the same ovary.

I am so thankful that I found this site to learn from my HysterSisters that have been down this road, or at least one similar!
