Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jun 20-Jun 26,2011

I have made it to week four and had several hours yesterday with no pain - felt like a new woman! Trying to increase my activity as I have only two weeks before I'm back at work and want to be fit to go - I need the money! Been great having this forum as support. Can drive now too so went to beach for short walk and didn't come back exhausted so all going well so far. Best wishes for everyone else!

Chest pain always needs to be reported to the doctor. That's what he's there for and that's what you pay him (or her) for. Pain in the chest can be a sign of a pulmonary embolism. Yours may be nothing, but it's better to err on the side of caution and give your doctor a call.

I hope you feel better soon.

Hi all, I will be 4 weeks post op on Thursday. I haven't used avy pain relief for about 1 week. Overall I feel great. Today has not been a very good day though, as I am really dizzy and incredibly tired. Thanx to all of you all the information has been a big help!

Hi Bitzy, welcome to the thread. Funny thing, this just happened to me Saturday. I thought I popped a stitch but didn't have confirmation of it until last night. I too have had that sting and I felt my incision and there is a half inch stitch that appears to have broken off at one end. This morning I woke up and my incision has split open a bit. So I totally get where you are coming from. It's amazing how that once little incision area can hurt so much especially when touched.

Please take care of youself and big hugs.

My goodness CrotchetDiva, I hope you get to feeling better soon. I agree with everyone else, you should call your doctor. Just to be safe. Take care and big hugs.

So one thing I have noticed is sometimes I get panic attacks. This is something that I have had happen prior to surgery so it isn't new, however they are happening more often. I may have had one or two in a 6 month period, but these past few weeks I have had 3 or 4. I am not concerned about it, but find it interesting. It is always the same, breathing issues.

Last night DH ended up making ribs so hopefully today I will make the kung pao chicken About halfway done with the book I started last night... two more books left of the series.
Good morning misty, I am sorry you are having more frequent panic attacks. I despise those. I've had a couple and they are not fun. I hope they level off soon for you. Happy healing and take care of yourself. Big hugs.

You kind of feel stupid for worrying, since I didn't have swelling, but I will sleep much better knowing that it is nothing serious.
Apart from that, I am healing well, resting lots and the pain has almost gone. I just get extremely tired and I still have bladder spasm every time I go. I really hope this will clear up by the 6wk check up.

I agree with you all that week 3 is tough. I'm ready to be back to normal for sure. Hoping this coming week will be better for all of us.
HUGS
I'm glad you went. Better to be safe than sorry. There is only ONE you. Hope for continued healing for you. Big hugs.

tld---glad you're feeling better each day!

Question for all---I kept my ovaries (not on any hormones), but I think I may be having mini-hot flashes. I get a warm face, no sweating, and then I get a chill. Doesn't last long, about 10-15 minutes, maybe once or twice a day. It almost feels like my fever is coming back, but I'm on antibiotics. Can a hot flash make you have a small fever, like 99 or 100.4??

Thanks for any answers!! Good night and hugs to all!!
Good morning Michelle, I'm not sure if it can raise your temperature. But I kept both of my ovaries too and no HRT. I've been having "power surges" too. My doctor told me at my two week check up that sometimes the ovaries are shocked from the surgery and it takes a little bit for them to kick back into gear. But she reassured me that they would. (they better because that's why I wanted to keep them, no HRT). But I feel for you, they are the pits particularly when it's overly hot outside.
Take care and I hope you have continued healing.
Big hugs,
Angel

Ms. Dee I would call my doctor if it were me. Particularly if it doesn't go away. You need to make sure there isn't anything seriously wrong.

I completely feel your discomfort with the heat as I am in Florida. And OMG, yes it feels hotter inside then out even though the a/c is set on 75. Sometimes, I feel like I can't cool down no matter what.

Take care of yourself and I hope you find out what is going on with your chest pain. Big hugs.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jun 20-Jun 26,2011

Good morning sisters,
I will be four weeks post op this Thursday. All in all, my list of complaints if small. Back pain, quite a bit of the time, tired still quite a bit, naps every day, no real energy and......................I think my "Saturday bending over for a jar of pickles" excursion actually popped a stitch but didn't have confirmation of it until last night. I have been having this painful stinging sensation on the right incision. Last night I felt my incision and there is a half inch stitch that appears to have broken off at one end. This morning I woke up and my incision has split open a bit. It's amazing how that one little incision area can hurt so much especially when touched. Thank goodness I have my four week follow up tomorrow.

I hope everyone is doing well and continuing to heal. It's a long road but we have made it this far. We can do this.
Big hugs to all
Angel
