Went in for LESS/SILS came out with TAH

Greetings sisters! I have to tell you I had been a nervoud wreck. I used so much advice from the site to help me get through. I did begin to have a panic attack when I scooted over to the OR table. However, prior to that I had spoke to all the docs and nurses about my panic disorder and they were all very understanding. I seriously want to send my nurse from the OR a card. She held my hands came right down to my level and breathed with me, stroking my hair and my arms until I was out. The original plan from my gyn was to do the LESS method. When I semi woke up in recovery my doc came right in and was telling me he had to do an abdominal. He said my uterus was so lumpy and there was a large fibroid preventing him from getting the blood supply. He said he tried very hard, but if he didn't stop and go the abdominal route I would have ended up with a blood transfusion. So even though it only seemed like a minute to me, apparently my surgery was about 5 hours. I will be staying here at the Castle until Sunday, so I am going to take advantage of the pampering. My doc even requested and ordered a massage for me from the hospital massage therapist. He gave me choice for neck, arms, shoulders or legs and feet! LOVED IT!!! I have to say that for having to go through major surgery, the staff at the Castle here is amazing!! I think it helps that it is specifically a women's hospital. Today I got my catheter out. She took out my IV's about an hour ago. Let me get one last dose on the machine and then gave me oral pain pills. They have done well taking care of my pain. As soon as the IV came out my husband helped me to the bathroom where I finally started passing gas!! This site has been so wonderful for me. It really prepared me for the big show. Also the nurses love the dish full of candy my husband brought in for them! The hard candy and chapstick was much needed as well!!! Thank you to all the princesses out there! I will do my best to encourage others and pay forward what you did for me! Also I need to change my profile to TAH!
