I had that problem also coming out of anesthetic, and my blood pressure too. I had a severe allergic reaction to the Dilaudid, and so I recieved a lovely cocktail of Benedryl, colace, simithicone, ultram, and loratab. My hubby got me this wonderful tummy pillow, which is my best friend while passing gas, going pee- pee, and yes, had acomanied me to number two. After the rougher surgery than expected yesterday 6/27, I was glad to finally make it home this evening! Sending you lots of hugs!

I actually did a little jig when the first BM happened. Celebrating BM's and gas. Yes girls, this is where we are at. Celebrate it, it's a good thing.

My sleep schedules are all off! I got up an hour ago (3 AM mind you) and took a percocet... but now my body believes me to be awake for the day... I think it is just the effects of the anesthesia.

I am a bit more sore than the average joe... lots of scar tissue meant a bit ore cutting. I got to keep my ovaries. I was supposed to lose the cervix, but it was adhered to the bladder... does this mean I will still have light spotting periods? I thought I had read that somewhere...

I had my TVH yesterday. Surgery started aroun 11:30 and I was in recovery by 1 and then to my big fancy private room (yay!) by 2:30. I feel pretty good. The nurses are wonderful and very helpful.

I was pretty much walking and peeing almost right away. They were pleasantly surprised. My doctor was just here and said I can go home after lunch. I know I'll be happy at home but I honestly don't want to leave! Lol. Everyone is so nice and it's very quiet here. I'm going home 2 happy but loud kids so do u see shui want to stay lol.

Time for a blood draw, yuck! Happy healing everyone! I'll post more after I'm home.

I have only peed 2x since I have gotten home. It really hurts so bad...I guess the gas is playing a part in that as well. I feel yucky!!

Kathryn,
try to make yourself go if at all possible. You don't want your bladder to get distended, nor do you want to risk infection. I found it was easier with my pillow pressed on my tummy.

Hello Fellow Hyster Sisters Class of June 2011!!!!
I had my surgery Monday & came home last night. It felt so good to sleep in my own bed! My surgery went well. I'm glad it's behind me! The posts really helped to ease some of my fears! I had a great 'roomie' in the hospital who was helpful as well. Best of luck as all of you recover. Thanks for the HUGS!!!
