Question - Why is pain worse at night? Why is pain worse at night?

Why is pain worse at night? Does anyone else experience this? I have severe endo and some days are better than others, but the pain always seems to get worse at night.
It also interrupts my sleep. I either have a hard time going to sleep because of the pain or I wake up because of it.

Re: Why is pain worse at night?

Has your pain improved since your LAVH? I'm hoping mine will after my TAH. I can deal with it most of the day, but starting around 5pm it starts getting more intense. I guess it's because I've been up and working most of the day and my body is just tired. I don't quite understand it. I really have a lot of pain after sex. Even if it's just a "quickie". I will end up with severe cramping for days. Any advice or suggestions would be great.

Re: Why is pain worse at night?

aww sorry to hear that .. yeah i was 'ok' for a little bit after my hyst, but the endo pain returned its now been almost 9 yrs and endo has been found a few times via laps since my hyst. the HARDEST thing with endo (at least it is for me) is that it seems to improve for awhile, but it ALWAYS comes back..i have tried lupron and BC in the past along with countless laps to remove it and here i am going in to talk to my specialist about possiably going in again to see whats causing my pelvic pain !! i dont want to sound discouraging bc everyone is different and we all respond to treatment differently and i hope in your case you find relief after your hyst!!! good luck to you.

Re: Why is pain worse at night?

I think the pain is worse at night because of the activity during the day. I do experience pain at night (and throughout the day off & on). It makes it hard to go to sleep at night plus in the middle of the night the pain wakes me up. I am now three months post op. I am thinking it is also post op pain. I am also having swelly belly. [I noticed though that you haven't had your TAH yet.]

Re: Why is pain worse at night?

Not yet. I am scheduled for Aug 9. I would have it sooner but I have to wait until Aug because of insurance and preexisting conditions. I'm just ready to feel better. I actuall got some sleep last night (about 11 hours) but I still feel so tired. It doesn't seem to matter how much sleep I get, I still feel the same fatigue (and pain) in the morning. I hope your pain improves and try not to over do it.
