Re: Smokers

Thats what I'm afraid of bc I really want to smoke. It easy bc no one in my house smokes and I'm not near my friends or co workers. But once I get back into the public I fear that my quitting will fly out the window.

Re: Smokers

I didn't smoke for a couple of days after surgery but went back to it. I don't smoke as much as I did before. I was scared it would do damage but so far everything has been ok.

Re: Smokers

I quit for 10 1/2 weeks. Did not even want to smoke, then all of a sudden I really wanted to smoke again. Unfortunately I did start again, not as much at first but now I'm back to pack a day. Good news is my husband and I have picked a new quit date together, July 10th. Wish us luck!

Re: Smokers

As I have written many times before in this help section, I too was a smoker before by hysterectomy, and I did successful quit, and have stayed quit ever since. You can do it!!! I was a one to two pack a day smoker, for 30 years! WHen I went back into public it was actually easy to NOT smoke. I think my nervous energy and pride kept me from bumming one. If you smoke even ONE chances are you will continue. Simply, just don't do it! Keep just not smoking. It became easier and easier as time went on. I still crave on occasion, but I just don't do it! Good luck to you!
