Pubic bone swelling 6 1/2 weeks post-op
Hi Everybody,
I just want to say that this is a great website! Each time I've thought I'm the only one going through something, I do a search and find many other comments about that issue.
Today, I'm 6 1/2 weeks from a supracervical abdominal hysto with ovarian preservation. All has been going well after what was thought to be an initial UTI. For the past few days, after my 6-week check, I've been feeling better than I've felt in months. My ob/gyn checked me last week. I asked about swelling below my horizontal incision, around the pubic bone, and also what looked like a muscle in my groin area. He said that the muscle was a swollen lymph node and that the swelling below my incision -- which was new -- was normal.
I have no pain, no fever, no redness. The only thing is this relatively recent swelling below my incision, at my pubic bone. I know lots of sisters have written about this, but I thought I'd check to see if there are other comments. Could it be possible, do you think from your experience, to have a significant infection with only the symptom of swelling? Or might this more likely be a collection of fluid, post-surgery, that will diminish on its own (what my doc said)? OB/Gyn gave me the "all clear."
At any rate, I'm going to see my GP tomorrow to ask her about these things. After I see her, I'll report back. I have no tenderness, no urinary problems now, nothing to indicate a serious situation. Just this weird swelling. I have been sitting at my desk more in the past week, working at my computer. So, perhaps this accounts for it? I'm walking though not yet working out or exercising.
thanks for your support,
