Tough recovery, happy ending!

If anybody reading this is having a difficult, prolonged recovery, please take heart and hang in there! My operation was a year ago, and I'm doing very well!

After a dreadful year of intense endometriosis pain, failed hormone and drug treatments, I finally had a hysterectomy
-- everything was removed except one ovary.

I was in a lot of pain for several weeks afterwards. It took at least 8 weeks for me to feel human, resume driving, etc. Because the recovery took so long I was convinced the operation was a failure. Thankfully, that was not the case at all.

By 3 months after the operation, I was feeling much much better. Wanting to lose 10 pounds I started dieting sensibly and lost 15! I'm in my early 50s and am as thin as I was in my 20s. I love not having periods, with all the attendant pain, fatigue and bloating. I have absolutely no menopausal symptoms.
