Scheduled for a DVH/RALH on August 4th Who's with me?

Just wondering how many other sisters out there are scheduled for surgery on August 4, 2011. I'd love to keep in touch and up to date on how your progress is going afterwards.

Getting a little nervous here myself. I am on my cycle right now and the pain and bleeding are so bad. Just took an 800mg Ibuprofen and may have to call the doctor to get something for the excessive bleeding. I am so weak.

I will be so glad to have this behind me, but nervous at the same time!

My birthday is on July 30th (Big 44) just a few days prior to surgery so I am hoping to try to kick up my heals and enjoy myself a little, knowing I will be laid up a while.

Please chime in if you are having your surgery on the 4th or anytime close to it!

Well back to bed with my heating pad and new pad. Hoping this one will be the last before surgery time.

You can find those ladies having surgery on the same day as yourself by using the Calendar link towards the top right of every page. Following surgery, in the Post-Op Support forum, there will be a dedicated Recovery Progress Report thread for all those who share your surgery week.

We hope you'll enjoy using Friends Without Faces for fun and social chatter, but we'll look for you in the Pre-Op Support Forum if you've any support needs or questions prior to surgery.

Best wishes!

I'm with you! Mine is scheduled for the 5th. I'm happy to be done with all the pain and bleeding, but also nervous and scared. Keep me updated and I will do the same!

Great, glad I have company. I feel the same way. I can't believe how emotional I feel. I cried last night. My DH lovingly laughed and joked with me. He is super supportive. I just don't understand why my emotions are all over the place. I know I NEED this done and I have two grown children 24 and 21. I do not plan on having anymore, but the thought of it makes me really sad.

Are you keeping your ovaries? Are you having the Da Vinci as well?

Stay in touch!

Yes, I am keeping my ovaries, and it will be da Vinci. I cry all the time. The hyst was my choice because of the constant pain. It was really my last option. I have 2 kids ages 3 and 11 months. Husband and I weren't sure if we wanted more kids in the distant future. Now knowing we won't have any, I'm very upset. But I'm ready to feel like I'm my age of 23 and not 83. I'm ready to get my quality of life back without being in pain or drugged and tired. We can get through this. It's emotional because we are losing our womanhood. I will definitely keep in touch. I'm here for you day or night.

(((RBrandt0710))), there's a special support forum on this site which was created especially for women like you who are feeling the emotional impact this surgery can have when bearing children is no longer an option. Here is a direct link to that board where you can start a new thread so members can offer support and share with you: Aching Hearts.

Please enjoy sharing about topics which aren't related to surgery and recovery here in the Friends Without Faces forum and visit the support boards on the site for any questions and concerns you have to get the best possible input from the most number of Sisters who can relate.
