Got out of bed, sharp pain in right side

Hello everyone. This site is awesome and such a blessing to us all.
I got off the bed very awkwardly today, such a sharp pain on right side just above incision. Pain was so intense, felt like I was gonna pass out. Still a bit of a dull pain now. Has anyone else experienced this? Does the pain subside?

Re: Got out of bed, sharp pain in right side

The same thing happened to me. I had my total hysterectomy July 22, 2011 and they took my right overy. The pain started this last Sat and has become worse and worse, where I have to get up very skillfully as to not set off the sharp pain. I called my doctor and am waiting for him to call back. I have looked up similar stories online and it is not uncommon to have this sharp burning pain when getting up, so I am not as worried. I will post what the doctor says. Please keep me posted on your progress too.

Re: Got out of bed, sharp pain in right side

Hi, I am actually now 5 weeks post op, returned full time to work today, all going well, except very tired, which is to be expected I guess. My doc said that pain is normal especially if you have had previous operations. So just hang in there.
