When I first came home and looked at my belly, I was upset.
It was swollen and big, as if I were pregnant.
It had a "map" of little stitches from the daVinci surgery.
The binder that is wide and elastic like a wrap around girdle helped with the swelling and pain at first. Ask the nurse for one before you leave the hospital. I used mine for only 5 days, but many other ladies have used theirs for longer.
My regular pants DID NOT fit. I couldn't zip them up.
I had to get some elastic pants in a larger size.
In time, say 2 months, the swelling went down a bit.
I would fit into pants with a zipper that weren't gym pants, but had elastic sewn into the waistband. The brand was from Dockers, and I bought them at Costco for $18.99.
I went back to work at 3 1/2 weeks with dressier sweat pants.
Still not professional enough for work, but it just had to do.
"Swelly belly" was alive and well every afternoon by lunchtime.
Why? I was vertical too long.
I had to come home and put my feet up, so that "swelly belly" would go down.
It wouldn't hurt, it just felt very uncomfortable if I didn't.
Now it is 6 months. Swelly belly still visits, but not as much as before.
I hope that this helps.
