3 week wall

It can take three weeks or so for all anesthesia and pain meds to leave our systems. So while we've been happily buzzing along, amazed that we feel so good...we are really still enjoying some residual drug-related benefits.

Suddenly we wake up, and poof! We hurt! We are very tired! We have no energy...it hurts to do stuff that didn't hurt yesterday! Voila...the "three week wall". It doesn't happen to everyone, nor is it a definite timeframe...it just seems to be very common.

It can be a wake-up call...it's a reminder that we are recovering from major surgery and still need to be VERY gentle with ourselves. Sometimes it's pretty boring to be a good princess....this seems to be our built-in alarm system. Try to scale back your activities, rest more, keep drinking, and see if you feel better. It's a long slow process, but every day should feel a little bit better.

Hang in there!!

3 week wall

Hi Jitterbug:

I also believe this is my 3 week wall...I was doing wonderful, nothing -- then bang. Pain, Pain, Pain... I did go shopping for a couple of hours 4 days ago, probably over did. I'm having alot of muscle aches and right sided pain. I had a LAVH kept ovaires!

I hope you feel better, it is nice to hear from ones that had surgery the same time..... Good luck hope to hear from you in the future regarding your progress whether it be ups or downs.

Bye
Angie

3 week wall

HiYa Gurls... thankq for writing back... can't believe i wrote jitterbug as a name... blame percocet... i was watching old I LOVE LUCY shows and donchu know it... she was jitterbugging just as I needed a screen name...

jitterbug hell... i'm lucky to make those dives trying to keep my kitten from running out the back door... yup... i guess that's why the internal stitches are hurting...

i've got horrific right side pain, too... doc said it could still be trapped gas but i think it's the clips from gallbladder surgery last january...

i haven't learned the code lingo here. i had a lap where everything was removed. previously had 6 or 7 laser laps for endo... and lupron hell... and various hormonal treatments...

surprisingly not alot of endo in there at surgery time... doc allowing me hrt.
i protested premarin on moral and ethical and got estradiol which i took previous to surgery...

OH MY GOD the estrogen helps... i think yesterday was my first cry free day.
but yes, i had the tears, anyway...

no progestin at all... doc says not needed sans uterus... ????

thanks for being here... this is a great service... my love to you all. dee
