Multiple Fibroids and Hysterectomy

Hi everyone:

I am just turning 40 yrs old. My doctor has told me I have over 12 fibroids in my uterus. Maybe 3 yrs ago I was going to do a myomectomy but decided not to because the doctor said she can only remove the 3 largest ones. I was not satisfied with that because I would still have fibroids and more could grow back. I was happy I made that decision. I tried different thing to naturally and other medical ways to get rid of these fibroid with no success. With that I felt I tried everything I could and decided to have a hysterectomy under my doctors advice. My doctor is going to remove my uterus and keep my ovaries and I have the option of keeping my cervix. My question is if I decide to remove my cerivx if I loose sexual function is there things I can take naturally that can bring back my sexual function? My doctor says once it is gone it is gone for good. Say it is not so!

Re: Multiple Fibroids and Hysterectomy

Yes there are things that help the function but once the cervix is gone, IT, (the cervix) is gone. Some of us struggle after surgery with libido, dryness etc and some don't. Most of us don't know how it will be after surgery so we all have had to make the decision of to keep or not to keep based on our own situations. Personally, I wanted to keep mine but medically , it was better I didn't and I did not want another surgery so it all went at once. I have been up and down the "O" ladder and it is different without my cervix and uterus but I am getting more and more improved every day. Hope this helps.
