Vaginal Pressure?

Hey Sisters,

Checking in with a problem. I feel like a bladder infection. You know the pressure in the vaginal area. I went to my general physician and had a urinalysis done. The nurse called to day w/results and no infection. Is this just one of the healing symptoms? Help Has anyone else had these symptoms? Thanks for any comments. (I am 3 weeks and one day post op) Also I am calling my ob/gyn tomorrow.

Some Pressure

Hi Linda,

You and I had surgery on the same day except I had an SAH. I'm glad I had the surgery as it was one of the best decisions of my life.

I, too, have felt a little pressure. I have noticed (as Dot indicated) when I attempt to over do it (believe me, it's taking all of what's in me to not over do it), the pressure is more noticeable. It does appear to be dwindling. I have found that although I am only 36, it is going to take a while for me to get back to what I would call normal.

At any rate, I agree, if it is really noticeable and is causing you some discomfort, talk to your doctor.

Just remember, take it easy and let your body recover. Don't attempt to rush or do anything that you shouldn't be doing.

God Bless!!!

Vaginal Pressure?

Hello! Well, I just wanted to comment on your problem. I am 7 wks. post op, and have just recently started feeling that pressue. I do not know why this is happening now, and have not contacted my Doc. reason being is that it was after Dh and I had sex and I think it is related to that. I am very uncomfaortable with it, but I am hoping for the best. If you find out anything different please let me know. Good luck to you and God Bless.

Vaginal Pressure?

Dot & LadyP8,
Thanks so much for your thoughts & concern. I am resting much more. I think I worry alot too. Just so hard to slow down when you have always been so active. I am not even walking (blocks) yet. I am giving it another week. Trying to regain any time I've lost (to possibly overdoing). Anyway I know it takes time. Luck to you both. I love the scripture.

Vaginal Pressure?

VirgoAngel,

Good luck to you too. I will let you know what I learn from my doctor. I feel better but still not totally comfortable. I wonder if some is due to the stitches disolving.Of course that is a guess. I am surprised you are feeling that now. It really felt just like a bladder infection. Wow & those are horrible. I was rather disapointed that it wasn't . I know they make meds for that. Take care & keep in touch.

Vaginal Pressure?

Hi Linda!

I had the same problem starting at 4 weeks post op. After my surgery I developed irritable bladder syndrome and found that certain things irritate my bladder and mimic a bladder infection. My advice is to drink TONS of water, and stay away from too much caffeine, carbonated beverages, and sugar. Since you don't have an infection, I'd stay away from cranberry juice, too because that makes your urine more acidic and irritates your bladder and/or urethra. Apple juice seems to soothe my bladder. I'll tell you, after fighting this for more than 10 weeks off and on, I've made sure I drink as much water as I can stand.

BEST OF LUCK!!!!

Vaginal Pressure?

Thanks Tracie,

I never feel like I am completely finished in the bathroom. I guess this is normal with drinking lots of water? Are you completely over this now? Did you symptoms ever subside during this time. I feel a little better but they never really disappear. I really appreciate your input. Hope your well now. Looking forward to that day. The recooping part wouldn't be bad except for this and a little weakness. I was doing cranberry juice glad to know this can hinder the situation.
Thanks again,
Linda

Vaginal Pressure?

Hi,
Just wanted to let you all know, I have the same thing happening. I feel the pressure and the urge to pee, and this is something I haven't had in weeks. I don't have an infection so I'm not sure what is up. But it is so frustrating. Someone suggested that maybe my bladder is swollen from doing to much and not resting enough. But I'm 3 months post, so how long must you rest!!! Take care everyone.

Vaginal Pressure?

Jillian,
Read your reply to my post today & wondered how your "pressure" is Mine is much better my gyns nurse did prescribe macrobid. Not sure if that is what has helped or just that time helped. Anyway hope your are feeling better with it now. I now experience the swelly belly and soreness in the stomache. I feel much better strength wise and not so tired. Still having to take it somewhat easy but am working almost full time. It does feel good to get home & stretch out. Well good luck to you in recovery.

Linda
