Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Sep 05-Sep 11,2011

Happy birthday to all you dynamic, beautiful, vivacious Libras! I hope you all have wonderful special days!

Jenn, I was wondering how you've been doing. I'm glad the trip went okay and, sorry you are not getting the help and support you need. I think we should have a hystersisters club house where we have big burley beautiful men doing all the work and we sit in our PJs and visit and rest and enjoy each other's company.

All is well here. I got the go ahead to start doing yoga--although, I'm not sure my Dr knows how vigirous yoga can be since he told me to stop laughing and not to do house work, but yoga's fine. I started a few days ago and I feel great! I think I'll start feeling much more myself when I can exercise again. I love long walks--really, really long walks, running and yoga. I even bought myself a present yesterday that I can use in two and a half weeks--a Bollywood dance workout video. It will be so fun--as long as no one can see me actually do it.

I'm still spotting and probably have to go to the store to buy another box of pads, which will make me sad, but I guess the spotting won't last forever--it will just seem like it, then that will be it for the rest of my life! That feels great!

I hope everyone has a good day/birthday and is feeling good and strong.

Thanks Sarahkw. That club house sounds pretty dang good right about now. That is kinda funny about the yoga but nothing else. I guess he/she never does yoga but if your body is letting you then go for it. It is so weird how last week I felt horrible and now this week is great. I am having some itching inside I hope it's not an infection but I did have my cervics out so maybe it's that healing is anyone else have this? I sure the dr will let me know today. Hope everyone has a good bday. 

Jen- I'm sorry you're feeling blue I know how that feels...and its not fun. I'm home alone now with the little one...I feel lonely and even tho my DH is trying to be superman, its better for me if he is NOT overdoing it cuz then HE gets stressed. Sheesh. Take care of yourself!

Hey luvnpeace... The reality of living on a vineyard is not as pretty as it sounds. It's very green right now but the area is considered the desert. Also, it's pretty much a working farm. Which isn't pretty. Although we have a lot of neighbors who grow for wine, we have Concords and grow for a certain grape juice company based out of Massachusetts. It's not very romantic. A lot of the big wineries around us do have nice set ups though.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Sep 05-Sep 11,2011

Hi all! Today is 4 weeks post op to the day. I am feeling more and more like myself and I am also getting warm sensations as I sleep and after drinking coffee. As a nurse I have explored this over the years for other women and one way to lessen the symptoms is to watch the sugar and caffeine connection. I can have oatmeal and I feel alright so it's not the hot food alone. It's the hot high sugar and fast metabolizing foods. So think of it as a time to baby yourself. Think: "Would I give this to a baby?"

Also, ground flax seed (2 tablespoons is really helpful for keeping your anxiety down and it's a great source of fiber that keeps you regular. Just don't cook it. Sprinkle it on hot cereal, add it to a smoothie or just mix it with applesauce and take it like medicine. Hippocrates said:"Let food be your medicine" Also Jesus said in John 6:35: I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst."

Lastly, remember to slow down even though you feel your energy come back. Think I better not try to soar like a 747 but I can breathe like one. Take a deep inhalation to the count of 7 through your nose, hold it for the count of 4, then exhale till 7. Do this 6-8 times and what ever is bothering you will feel less intense. Fresh air! This is the season and it’s calorie free! Keep healing and know that we all will come through this and it’s powerful to be able to do it together! You are all in my prayers.
