Did you have a bad pap which revealed this? Has your doctor done any other tests? What exactly has your doctor even discussed with you? I hate to come off with so many questions, but if we had more info then we could help you a lot better! Severe cervical dysplasia can be very serious if not taken care of. Some people refer to this as pre-cancer. Here is a URL of where I did a search for you. Just click on it...

We are here to help you in anyway that we can. If you have questions, please ask. We are not doctors, but more than happy to share our experiences and offer a shoulder when needed. We are also a great cheering committee!! Know that you are not alone with us here!

Yes my doctor found this out after an abnormal pap and a biopsy revealed this is in my cervix as well. I am very scared. I am going to see a specialist this afternoon but I am unaware if this means already have ancer and if it is treatable!

Considering that you are going to the doctor in hours, please remember this.... no matter how ridiculous you think a question is, ask the doctor anyways! That is what he is there for!! Take paper and pen. IF you think of a question, write it down, and then write down his answer when you take the paper in to see the doctor!
I went through exactly what you are going through. I was lucky and we reached the cancer early. I had my cervix and uterus removed and have been cancer free ever since. The good thing about catching this early was that I didn't need any further treatments after the hysterectomy. See what the doctor has to say about your results and ask questions. He may have other options for you, especially since you are so young. A hysterectomy is normally the last decision, so keep an open mind!! This is the beginning and once you speak to this doctor you should know a lot more. Remember to write things down!! If you get confused, ask him to repeat himself! It's amazing how fast we forget when we get in front of a doctor!!
Good luck dear and please keep us posted!!

Severe Cervical Dysplasia

Hello all! I went to my specialist yesterday and I have to have the Leep procedure done on Tuesday. I am a little nervous but it was good news since I was extremley scared.
The doc even drew me pics to help me to understand what was going on with my body, he was very helpful. He told me worst case scenario would be a hystorectomy. I am very happy with my results. thank you all for your support!

I'm so glad that your doctor was so helpful in explaining everything to you!! I personally did not have the leep procedure, but others here have and I know that they will be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have about it. I'm really glad that your nerves have calmed and you can relax a bit!

Try not to worry about the LEEP too much. You might have some mild cramping and bleeding afterward, but it's do-able. And remember, the LEEP can frequently take care of the problem so that no further treatment is needed. You're still very young, and I'm sure your doctor will try to go as conservatively as possible so that you can have children in the future if that is your wish.

The best thing you can do for yourself right now is relax, eat well, and get some sleep. Take care of yourself so that you heal quickly after your procedure on Tuesday. And let us know how your results come back! Good luck!
