Two Months!! PLEASE READ!!

Okay, am I asking to much of myself? Doing the simplest of task takes huge amounts of energy. I walk and look like I did at 4-5 months pregnancy. I am wondering if I need a new wardrobe. Nothing fits, even my underwear hurts. (If only we could walk around naked all the time) I have been short with my children, I am tired all the time and feel like the wicked witch of the west. Is it hormones exhaustion, expectations? I really feel like I am on edge all the time! My DH has been awesome, but, I feel like nothing is enough. It is so hard for me to let go of keeping up with my normal lifestyle when I get pooped out so quickly. Can you tell I am feeling very low. It is beautiful outside and I want to go do stuff with the kids but they bug me everything bugs me. I feel like a spoiled kid. AAAAHHHHH! What I read here seems to say that it will be months and months before I get back to it. I guess I just need to get that through my head.

The discomfort on my belly is irritating and there is a sharp pain to the right and below my belly button. I know I must sound like a whiner, I just feel like I can't take it anymore I want to go back to normal, well, not that way but you know what I mean.

Sorry this was so long I really needed to vent.

Two Months!! PLEASE READ!!

Sheri-

okay to vent - I feel about the same sister.

So tired of not feeling "normal", I could scream sometimes. Just doing the littlest things around the house can tire me out, and give me a nite of the aches and pains!

Our surgeries were not too far apart - I know we need more time to heal, but patience does wear thin at times!!

((healing hugs)) to you!

p.s. - my undies still hurt me too

Two Months!! PLEASE READ!!

Dear Sheri - have you mentioned this fatigue to your doctor? My feelings are that part of your problem could be hormone related. It really does take some of us a very long time to get back to normal. Mention it to your doctor, and I hope you feel better soon. Best wishes,

Sheri,

It does sound as if your hormones may need some fine tuning. I agree with Catherine that you should discuss this with your doctor. As far as enjoying the nice weather, have someone set up a chair outside for you, bring out something you find relaxing, and alternate between watching the kids play and this activity. The swelly belly does go away, just not as quickly as any of us would like. Mine appears, though not too often, and only if I push myself really hard, even at 7 months. For the most part it is gone. I think it was at about the 5 month mark where I really noticed that I did not have it at the end of the day. At 4 months I was able to wear my jeans again, but by late afternoon was needing to unbutton them or change into elastic waist pants.
It does get better, just slower then expected. We all want to be 100%....YESTERDAY! I hope you are feeling a little better today, and even more so tomorrow. Call your doctor about the hormones though.

Hi Sheri
Your body has been through a lot and so try to be patient with yourself.

I left one ovary and I have not been tiring easily anymore, so maybe that could be hormone related?? I don't know. I hope you feel better soon. Give the Dr a call and let him/her know how you are feeling.

Take Care

Two Months!! PLEASE READ!!

Sheri..Don't be so hard on yourself. It's ok to take it easy for a while longer. You just had major surgery two months ago. That's not long ago at all! It will take time before you feel near normal again. But once you do..I hope you find as I did it was all worth it! The swelly belly thing will last a while but it WILL gradually get better.
Of course you are tired..your body is healing and that takes energy! Sheri..your sisters have been where you are and we do understand your frustration. Vent with us anytime you wish!!! Hugs!!! God Bless, Babs

Hang in there

Hi Sheri,

Hang in there, I too am fatiguing easily. I went back to work last week after my 6 weeks and ended up pooping out by Wednesday. I work at a computer all day so all I did was sit at the computer, but bearly managed to make it 3 days back. Sounds like hormones could definately be playing a roll as well. I was surprised that I got so tired, so easily as well, I guess bodies are still using energy to heal and not leaving a lot left over.

Don't panic, it must get better. The worst is past right?

Special prayers for you,
Shelly from Tucson

also veryyyyyy tired!!

hello, i am going on 9 weeks post op. i went back to work last week, i am a bartender. i had alot of problems pre op and it took me till 8 weeks to feel kinda normal. well here i am back at work full time and i feel as if a mack truck ran me over at the end of the day. everyone says this will get better, oh i pray it does. i do all my housework in the early a.m., because if i wait till evening wheni get off work, i just can hardly drive home let alone clean!!haha. i am new to this hormone thing, but i think i am okay there (i think) i am on premarin 1.25, dont have headaches, or hot flashes. but i am so tired. i take vitamins, and i try to eat right, not always possible. i guess what i am asking is can i do anything else to help with this ? will i ever feel the energy i once had? also. is it noemal, that when i wake up my stomach is flat, but by the end of the day its swollen. why??????? well sorry to go on and on, but i am getting so frustrated, i want to get off work , come home and enjoy my family, not come home and go right to bed at 7p.m. need answers help!!!! thanks for listening. love m&m

M&M

9 weeks is not really that far into recovery. I am a Stay-At-Home Mom so I didn't have to return to work, but I have seen LOTS of others post about the fatigue when returning to work. Your body is used to resting and now you are asking more of it, so I think this can be expected. I know just returning to taking care of my household after resting for weeks on end, that I fought with the fatigue also.

As for the swelly belly, YEP that is normal for it to be flat in the morning and swollen in the evening. Even at 9 1/2 months post op, I STILL have that happen occasionally. Not so much as it used to and not as swollen, but when I really do alot physically, I can see a difference by evening. Remember you aren't not completely healed on the inside, you may appear to be healed from the outside, but there is still alot of healing going on on the inside.

Take Care.
