December B.E.S.T. Chatter Thread

I can't believe I'm starting up the December Chatter thread already. Yikes....where did June go.

Let's share our busy schedules with each other.

Hope everyone has a wonderful month!! It's snowy and white out my window today, so it really looks and feels like Christmas time and winter.

Re: December B.E.S.T. Chatter Thread

Hi Nancy, thanks for starting the thread. I just wanted a quick because every time I try to post from home my Internet connection goes down and I lose my post. Well, it's happened 3 or 4 times, and it makes me At least I TRY to post, but

I wanted to welcome Barri back, she posted at exactly the same time I did, so I did not see her post for a long time. Keep healing, Barri, you are doing great. I am so glad the doctor is so encouraging.

And Ali, great news on the loss

Valorie, welcome home, and feel better soon.

Everyone, happy December!!

Re: December B.E.S.T. Chatter Thread

hi
Just hopping on the December thread.
I'm Feeling better today.
Just got done making 10 loaves of pumpkin bread for our employee Christmas party, still have a few more to go. I give each employee a loaf each Christmas, and since I started this a few years ago, if I stopped now I might have chaos on my hands.
Well our trip was wonderful, 3 amazing things about this trip were
1. both DH and I were able to go.
2. we were able to be gone for 9 days.
3. It's the 1st Thanksgiving we have spent with any of our family in 18 years, and only the 2nd in 28 years.
We enjoyed alot of down time and got out and did some stuff too.
My mom and I did some baking on the Tuesday before thanksgiving, fun!
On Wednesday we went with my 2 neices and sister in law to the museum of Natural History to see a Imax and dinosaur exhibit, not my first choice but thats where they were going and we were invited, but it gave me an idea to get my parents some Imax tickets for Christmas to that was good.
Thursday was crazy fun. We drove out to my sister's they live on a ranch/farm. there were 17 of us there. We finished preparing the food.
Then the games began, my brother in law is head activity coodinator, lol, and boy is he good at it. Most everyone went out first and played frisbee golf, then I think we ate. After lunch was target practice.
Dessert, and more games. Didn't have to listen to football as they don't have TV out there on the ol farm.
We played some crazy card games, it was hilarious.
Another great part was my sister had room for all 17 of us to sleep, so all but 2 stayed 2 more days and kept having loads of fun.
Friday morning we spent playing Cowboy golf, no lack of entertainment when my brother in law is around. this was played all over the land around their house and barnyard and pastures.
The crazy ones followed that up with ultimate frisbee. The evening held a silly game of girls against guys, girls answering questions about sports etc, guy related things and guys answering things about girl stuff. We laughed ourselves silly.
Saturday held a little bit of shopping for the girls, just going through some antique stores etc.
It was a great Thanksgiving weekend. We went back to my parents on Sunday and my mom had invited 9 of her 12 siblings and their sposes over for dinner, which was great, allowed me to get to visit with all my aunts and uncles. To say the least I was exshausted by the end of that day.
another great thing was 8 out of the 9 days it was 70 degrees , only one day did we have a 35 degree day. My brother called today to say we left just in time it was 6 degrees today.
I was also very thankful to my family members that helped out so much with everything that I didn't over do it and was able to enjoy the entire time.
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving too.

Re: December B.E.S.T. Chatter Thread

Quickly stopping by to say hi :-) ... I continue to heal (praise the Lord), I was released from in home P.T. and O.T today, will begin out patient P.T. after I see my Dr. Wed and he puts in a request. I have been
feeling a little "down" since I cannot decorate and DH is beginning to feel "resentful" about my injuries and is not helping me feel any better. I am hoping he will get some cards so I can at least begin signing and addressing them.
I will post again soon, after my Wed, Dr's appt.
Hugs to you all !!!

Re: December B.E.S.T. Chatter Thread

Wow - Already Dec. 3 and I'm just getting on the Dec. thread...I'm slow!
Hi Barri - Glad to hear you are mending well. Sorry DH is having his issues...but take heart - it is just for a season and you will be back up and going before long! (I was very discouraged at one point after 5 surgeries in 5 years...)
DH and I are doing lighting for our church Christmas Dinner Theatre. Had dress rehearsal tonight, and my spotlight looked like Saturn with the rings around it...This wide band smack in the middle of the spot. Some guys were working on it when I left tonight...hope it gets fixed!
We are having RAIN in Texas - and we need it sooooo bad...we are very thankful.
We have been helping a friend by staying with her ill husband (cancer, and he's now in hospice care). Will be going there in the morning again.
Hi to all the BEST friends!
I am heading to bed...

Re: December B.E.S.T. Chatter Thread

Wow we all must be busy with this holiday season. I'm busy but just barely with the holiday only tonight is my first attempt at decorating, DH actually got into the decorating before I did.
I've only bought one gift so far. have no idea what to get 4 grown kids who have champagne tastes on my beer budget
DS 25 will be coming home he has been stationed at Fort Benning, in Georgia for the past 5 months, now he will live with us until he gets a job or gets deployed. Finding a Job is going to be tough, and even the military is cutting back.
We will love having him home, not sure he will so love living with mom and dad, but hey its free while he is in transition.
Hope you all are doing fine this holiday season.

I just wanted to wish anyone who celebrates a very Happy Chanukah!!

Val sounds like a great trip and a great time. So happy that you got to go!

Barri sorry you are feeling a little down. As I previously said to you tell your dh to get out the Christmas decorations and at least put some of them up. I hope he got you your cards to do. Hugs

Hi to anyone else who might pop up over the next couple of weeks.

Re: December B.E.S.T. Chatter Thread

Wow - we are a busy group - too busy to chatter much!
I am on the road - drove from TX to NC (2 day trip), visited with DH's mom, then drove to NJ Monday, will celebrate my Dad's 90th birthday while here, then Wed. we are on our way to Ohio (and the kids/grandkids!) We will be there a week before heading back to TX.
So I'm not eating right/but being mindful...and also not exercising...but plan to get on that once we hit Ohio.
Happy Chanukah to those who are celebrating!
Barri - hope you are healing well! It's just your season to "be still"!
Hi to all!

Happy gang! The smilie is easier than choosing a spelling for Chanukah

Safe travels to all, and stay mindful when you can!
